The Arts Institute The Arts Institute at Montgomery College provides exceptional arts experiences and learning opportunities for students, faculty, and the community. Through the Arts Institute, students have had opportunities to study abroad in such locations as Italy and China, and have internship opportunities at various art museums. The Arts Institute has sponsored lectures with metal sculptors Albert Paley and , and workshops Chih-Yu Kevin Lin, Pourable Moment James Malenda, Tea with Dresser I Betsy Markowski, Judy in Flight Paulette Myers, Voyage: Navigating Life with Jack da Silva, Leonard Urso, , Harold O'Conner, Paulette Myers, and Kye-Yeon Son and Hyung-Kyu Lee from Korea. The institute has also brought ceramic artists such as Bruce Bowers, Marvin Sweet, Helio Guitierrez from Nicaragua, and Hui Wang and Zhengzhong Zhang from China to present workshops at the College. Sarah Silberman Art Gallery The Sarah Silberman Art Gallery is an educational resource of the Rockville Campus Art Department. Its primary function is to augment, enhance, and promote the teaching and understanding of art through a diverse program of changing exhibitions, benefiting Montgomery College and the public.
