Australian Jumping Championships 2011 Schedule 2 Welcome to the 2011 National Jumping Championships.

This is the first time that the Championships have been in held Dubbo and we thank Dubbo Showground for providing the venue.

Australian horses and riders have made an impression on the international scene over the last 12 months and it all starts right here at home. Whilst we have lost some quality horses to overseas buyers, we are proud that world class horses are being produced on our Australian circuit.

Thank you to all the riders, coaches, course designers, officials, event organisers, volunteers, parents and grooms for making not only these championships but the whole the Australian Jumping circuit an exciting and competitive environment.

These championships decide the Australian Junior, Young Rider and Senior titles. I wish all competitors good luck for a successful show.

Edwena Mitchell and her team have worked tirelessly to put this event together, so please take the time to show her your appreciation.

Best of Luck

Grant Baldock CEO Equestrian Australia

At the conclusion of the second round the best three scores from each round are added together to determine the team score. In the event of tie for first or any subsequent places the time taken in the second round for the three scores used will be added together, the team with the fastest time will be placed in front of Teams with equal penalties. There will be no Jump-off against the clock. 8.9. Eliminated horses may compete in the second round. 8.10. If two or more athletes of a team, participating with four athletes in the first or second round, are eliminated or retire, the whole team is eliminated. 8.11. First two Final competitions. In the first two Final competitions points are given to all competitors having finished the initial round. 5.2. Point System. The winner of both competitions gets one point more than the number of starters in the first final competition. The second placed gets two points less than the winner, the third placed three points less than the winner, and so on. 5.3. Competitors eliminated or retiring. Competitors who have been eliminated or have retired in the initial round do not get points. 5.4. Equality of points among competitors. Points won by competitors who are tied are added up and divided equally. Fractions of 0.50 and more are rounded up; fractions of less than 0.50 are rounded down. 5.5. Transformation of points to penalties. After the second Final competition, points are transformed into penalties. The competitor with the highest number of points after two competitions will have 0 penalties. For all other competitors the number of penalties will be calculated by multiplying with the coefficient of 0.50 the difference between their number of points and the points of the leading competitor after two competitions. In this procedure all decimals are rounded down. 6. Determination of the Australian Champion 6.1. Classification. The overall winner will be the competitor with the lowest number of penalties after the three Final competitions. If competitors are tied for first place after the three final

Australian Jumping Championships 2011 Schedule 6 competitions, there will be a jump-off against the clock over a reduced course of at least six obstacles. 6.2. Competitors not in the jump-off but tying on penalties are placed equal. Junior and Juniors and Young Riders may start 3 or more horses in Rounds 1 and 2 Young Riders of each Championship – but may only start 2 horses in the Final Round. Juniors Juniors may start in both Junior and Young Rider Title classes, but not on the same horse – ie: different horse and rider combination. Meanwhile his progeny here are creating a stir as they come of age to begin competing as well, with success stories in all Olympic disciplines. Visage returned to Australia last year, in time for the 2010 breeding season. Unfortunately an injury sustained inflight prevented him from being available for chilled cover. But he is back on deck for the 2011 season. Visage ticks all the breeding stallion boxes: excellent temperament and conformation, head-turning looks and consistent competitive success both here and in Europe. He has perfect technique, which is careful and scopey and brave, and he is passing his talents and looks on to his progeny. Before leaving for France a year ago, Visage ran 2nd in the World Cup class at Sale, with rider Christopher Burton competing in his first-ever showjumping World Cup. Earlier successes include: Champion of Champions at DSJWTS his first year in Australia; Champion Young Event Horse at Sydney Royal the following year; World Cup class placings at Sydney Royal and in Queensland.
