Bravo TV NZ - Request for Proposals 17 February, 2017

Introduction is a major new contender in the NZ market with a clear identity. It has distinguished itself from its other FTA competitors with its consistent and addictive programming and is attracting an engaged audience with content that wasn't easily accessible in New Zealand prior to the launch of the channel.

Bravo gives the audience fabulous rebels, trending affluencers, and larger-than-life personalities. The channel has a clear brand perception and viewers know exactly what they will get. Bravo isn’t a ‘guilty pleasure’, it’s a guilt free pleasure!

Bravo is fresh, unexpected, fun, honest and playful, delivering original unscripted programming including Emmy award-winning , , , , , Million Dollar Listing and franchises.

What we are looking for

A unscripted programme targeting our core demographic. It needs to embrace the Bravo values - have strong characters and drama with a fun edge. Never sensationalistic or silly, the tone of our shows is straightforward and authentic, without taking ourselves too seriously. We are open to all unscripted ideas, but are particularly interested in the food and real estate genres.

The programme will premiere in peak, but needs to be suitable for an AO daytime audience.

Target audience

Core demographic is F25-54, Household Shoppers with Kids. Our audience loves losing themselves in a world that is different from their own, yet has characters who are incredibly relatable. Secondary demographics: F18-49, A25-54

Budget

NZ$600,000 We welcome proposals with strong advertising integration and co-production funding opportunities.

Format

Minimum 8 x commercial hours (ideally 10 +)

Deliverables

Brief concept, setting, core characters/cast, treatment and ideas for story arcs Overview of creative team – producers, directors, relevant experience in the reality genre Integration opportunities across platforms

Bravo TV New Zealand Limited (“Bravo”) is a joint venture between MediaWorks, New Zealand’s largest independent broadcaster, and NBCUniversal International, a division of NBCUniversal, one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies. General Terms and Conditions for Pitching to Bravo

By submitting a proposal in response to this Request for Proposal (“RFP”), you (as an individual or production company) agree the following terms will apply to your proposal submission and all materials submitted in connection with it (“Proposal”).

1. Intellectual Property You confirm and warrant that the Proposal is wholly original to you, and you have full rights and authorisation to submit the Proposal on these terms, including having obtained all necessary consents and releases. You indemnify Bravo and its affiliates from and against any and all claims, demands, actions damages, expenses, losses or liabilities that they may suffer as a result of their receipt and use of the Proposal (in whole or in part), including arising from any breach of the above warranty provided by you.

Bravo receives a large a number of proposals and submissions from different sources and has access to a significant portfolio of existing ideas, concepts and works in various stages of completion, including via its affiliated companies. You acknowledge that Bravo and its affiliates may, either in connection with this RFP or otherwise, be working on ideas, concepts or formats which are similar to your Proposal, and may continue considering and developing such projects without any obligation or liability to you, regardless of any perceived similarities to your Proposal.

2. Retention of Proposal Bravo may choose not to return physical materials submitted with your Proposal. Please maintain duplicates of materials before submitting them. We recommend you do not submit any originals which cannot be replaced or duplicated. Bravo may choose to maintain an archive copy of Proposals received once it has finalised its decision-making.

3. Selection and Next Steps This RFP is not an offer to contract, and Bravo and its affiliates will not incur any obligation or liability by accepting your Proposal or discussing it further with you. If your Proposal is successful, you will be required to enter into an agreement(s) with Bravo on terms to be proposed by Bravo in relation to the development, broadcast and related exploitations and distribution of any resulting project, as applicable. Due to the large volume of submissions, Bravo will not be able to enter into correspondence with parties it does not wish to proceed with. If you do not hear from us by 7 April 2017, you have not been selected, but we thank you for your submission and your interest in Bravo regardless.

4. Confidentiality You agree to keep confidential: this request for proposal, all information relating to the business affairs and operations of Bravo and its affiliates that is provided to you by or on behalf of Bravo, and any discussions or correspondence between you and Bravo. Your use of any such confidential information is limited to this request for proposal only (including any subsequent discussions where applicable) and cannot be used for any other purposes.

5. Variation of Terms Bravo may vary these Terms and Conditions at any time, including cancelling or terminating the RFP early, without notice to you.
