AD VITAM BRINGS FRENCH SERIES INTO THE PRIMETIME SPOTLIGHT AT TIFF‘18!
Lagardère Studios Distribution is thrilled to announce that Ad Vitam has been selected for a Primetime slot at the Toronto International Film Festival, held this year from September 6-16. The international premiere of the first two episodes of the much-anticipated French series is scheduled for Monday, September 10, with screenings at 6:30 p.m. at the TIFF Bell Lightbox Cinema 3 for the public and 10:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank 6 for press and industry.
For the fourth year running TIFF has found ways to include an international range of television into its lineup via the Primetime program, which will spotlight five new series as part of this year’s festival. The press and industry screening will be followed by a Q&A with the show’s two creators, Thomas Cailley and Sébastien Mounier, actress Garance Marillier and producer Katia Raïs.
The 6x52’ series starring Yvan Attal and Garance Marillier and co-produced by KELIJA (Katia Raïs) and ARTE France was awarded Best French Series at Series Mania (Lille) in 2018. Lagardère Studios Distribution is handling the worldwide distribution.
Its creator Thomas Cailley had already earned praise and prizes for his first-time feature Les Combattants (Love at First Sight), including Best First Film, Best Actress (Adèle Haenel) and Most Promising Actor (Kévin Azaïs) at the 2015 Césars, the SACD prize, the Art Cinema Award and the Europa Cinemas Label at the Directors’ Fortnight in 2014.
Synopsis:
They thought they had conquered death, until seven bodies turned up—all suicides, all minors. Death pact? Political act? Cry for help from a hopeless generation? 120-year-old cop Darius leads the investigation with young suicidal rebel Christa in this vertiginous descent into the depths of a world drifting toward eternity…or oblivion...
