President’s Message Hello everyone.

Two thirds of the way through winter, Yippee!! Spring approaches just a month hence. I trust that everyone enjoyed our last Guest Speaker, Laurie Howell from Palmers garden centre. He certainly had an interesting history prior to taking over the Garden Centre didn’t he. No doubt after his presentation many of you will be chewing at the bit to get in to your own gardens. Our meeting lunch at Robert Harris in was also very enjoyable and they looked after us well although numbers were down a bit. We chose to go across to Feilding to try somewhere different. We have had quite a range of Cafes since we chose to do this, some very good and the odd one not so good!! I trust that everyone enjoyed the Mystery Bus trip last Wednesday, it was a little different but variety is the spice of life so they say, even for a bunch of oldies. The date of the Bus trip to Wellington has been amended slightly to Thursday 15th October so mark this new date in your diaries. We still need a few volunteers to tell us about themselves as profile speakers, I know that we all enjoy hearing about what our members have done over the years. You can contact me or any member of the Committee. Once again, thank you to our committee and helpers for their time and input. Without them we would not have a Probus Club. I look forward to seeing you at the August meeting… did I just type August? Crikey hasn’t the year flown by… Yours in friendship and fellowship,

Regards Alan
