Hatch Street is located on the south side of Dublin city centre, close to St. Stephen’s Green.

Dublin is the capital of and largest city in Ireland. Dublin is located in the province of Leinster on the east coast of Ireland, at the mouth of the River Liffey and bordered on the South by the Wicklow Mountains. The city has an urban area population of over 1 million and the population of the Greater Dublin area is nearly two million.

Dublin has many historic landmarks and monuments. One of the oldest is Dublin Castle, which was first founded as a major defensive work on the orders of England’s King John in 1204, shortly after the Norman invasion of Ireland. One of Dublin’s newest monuments is the Spire of Dublin, a conical spire made of stainless steel located on O’Connell Street, intended to mark Dublin’s place in the 21st century. There are also many green-spaces around the city; public parks include the Phoenix Park, Herbert Park and St Stephen’s Green.

The National Museum of Ireland on Kildare Street hosts Ireland’s ancient artifacts from the Stone Age to the Late Middle Ages. The National Museum of Ireland in Collins Barracks is home to exhibitions of decorative arts and modern history.

Dating back to the mid-19th Century and with an impressive materpieces collection, the National Gallery of Ireland on Merrion Square is also a popular place for visitors.
