NEATH COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1972 – SECTION 55(2) REVIEW OF COMMUNITY ARRANGEMENTS IN THE COUNTY BOROUGH OF PORT TALBOT

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council have conducted a review of the community boundaries in the County Borough of under Sections 55(2) and 57(4) of the Local Government Act 1972. After considering their proposals in accordance with Section 55(3) of that Act the Council have today (22 June 2015) submitted their report to the Local Democracy and Boundary Commission for for consideration. A copy of that report is available on the Council’s corporate website at www.npt.gov.uk/elections

As a result of consultations Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council have recommended changes to the internal warding arrangements or councillor numbers of the following communities:

- Brynhyfryd ward  Neath - Cefn Saeson ward  Briton Ferry - Shelone Wood ward  Neath - Llantwit ward  - Bryncoch North ward  - Pontardawe ward  Blaenhonddan - Bryncoch South ward  Pontardawe - Rhydyfro ward  Blaenhonddan - Cadoxton ward  Pontardawe - Trebanos ward  - Gellinudd ward  - Godre’rgraig ward  Cilybebyll - Rhos ward  Ystalyfera - Ystalyfera ward  Neath - Castle ward

These changes will be made by Order of Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council.

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council have also recommended changes to the external boundaries of the following communities:

 Baglan  Port Talbot  Briton Ferry  (DET)  Cwmavon  Seven Sisters   Tai-bach 

If accepted, these changes will be made by Order of the Local Democracy and Boundary Commission for Wales.
