The following instructions use the Floriani Embroidery Suite software to modify and combine existing designs from the Signature Series: Signifi cance of Petals design collection. The same instructions are also applicable with the Floriani Total Control Professional platform.

Since the software lesson requires measurements of the pashmina, please preshrink if necessary. A washable pashmina fabric, such as viscose or , is required for this project.

Part A – Design Layout Step 3 – Insert designs into template

Right click again. Select Paste.

Move the grouped design next to the design in the bottom left corner approximately �" from the corner design. Select both designs. Right click. Select Align. Select Bottom.

Click on the Flip Horizontal icon on the left side of the screen. The newly pasted designs will become a mirror image of the original designs.

With both designs still selected, pull the upper right hand corner of the box to proportionally resize the design to fi ll the 6” height.

Move the altered designs to the right hand corner of the layout as shown.

With the designs still selected, right click. Select Copy.

3 Floriani...The Name That Means Beautiful Embroidery! To fi ll the center of the design area, select the File tab. Select Merge. Select a design to place in the center of the mirrored designs. Rotate, if necessary by selecting the rotate icon. The tool rotates the design 45°.

Select the portion of the design that will fi t in the hoop. Right click. Select Copy. Create a new document. Right click. Select Paste. Rotate the design 90° to the left by selecting the Rotate Left icon twice. Right click again. Select UnGroup.

Resize the design to be visually proportional to the other designs. Fine-tune the rotation by selecting the top circle handle.

Select the File tab. Select Save as. Name the fi le and save it in the appropriate stitch format for the machine. Since these designs are predominately run stitches, it is not necessary to run them through Save 2 Sew. Stabilizing instructions are included with the sewing instructions.

Step 6 – Print Placement Template

From the fi le menu, select Print Preview. Print a template at actual size (100%) with crosshairs. Adjust the print settings if necessary. This size of design will print on two sheets.

Select to print the template. The actual size template will print fi rst. Select, in the options box, to print the color analysis. Piece the template together at the crosshairs.
