1. Site and Date of the Meeting

The VII Regular Meeting of the Assembly of the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL) will be held from March 13 to March 15, 2018, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The sessions will be held in the Hotel Emperador Hotel Buenos Aires, located in the Libertador Avenue 420 C1001ABR, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina. All reservations, without exception, must be made as soon as possible individually and directly with the hotel of your choice, and will be subject to the availability of hotel rooms. In order to obtain the rate negotiated by the Argentine administration and the benefits please remember to include the CITEL2018 code in the reservation to obtain the discount. Reservation requests will only be confirmed if they include a valid credit card number and expiration date. In addition, reservation cancellations and changes will be subject to the current rules and policies of the hotel. The hotel bill must be settled directly by each participant at the end of his/her stay. Foreign tourists have the benefit of exemption from the value-added tax (VAT 21%) on accommodation. 5. Flights and Transportation Ezeiza Airport: located 40 minutes from the city and used for the arrival and departure of international flights. Aeroparque : it is located 15 minutes from downtown Buenos Aires and is used for domestic flights from neighboring countries. 6. VISA and Entry Requirements of the Country Most delegates do not require a visa to enter Argentina. However, the delegates are responsible for complying with the visa requirements established by Argentina. You can check the visa requirement at the following web page: www.mrecic.gov.ar "Consular Services". No vaccination certificate is required when entering the country, except for cholera and yellow fever for passengers from countries where these diseases are endemic. It is recommended that those who require a visa to enter Argentina, contact Priscila Vento at [email protected] to request a letter of invitation that will then be delivered to the Argentine Embassy of the requesting country in order to obtain the visa.

8. Participant Registration To register, participants must complete the online registration at http://www.oas.org/citelrs/Default.aspx?lng=eng until March 9, 2018 at 12: 00m (noon). You will receive an email at the end of your registration stating that your information was received. In case of any difficulty for its use, please contact CITEL at: [email protected] . The registration of participants after the previously indicated date and the distribution of badges will begin before the meeting, on Sunday, March 11, at the event venue from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The registration and delivery of badges will continue in the same place from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm from Monday, March 12 until March 15. For security reasons, Conference I.D.s should be displayed for all activities of the meeting. Delegates will be asked to present an official I.D. and / or a copy of their official credentials when they register to receive the Conference I.D.

9. Working Languages and Documents The sessions of the VII Regular Meeting of the Assembly of the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL) will be conducted in the two o the official languages of the OAS: Spanish, and English. Simultaneous interpretation services will be provided in those languages. The working documents distributed at the meeting will also be in the Spanish and English languages. Delegations are urged to bring their laptops, as the meeting rooms will be equipped with wireless Internet to enable them to consult and download all meeting documents posted on the OAS web page: VII Regular Meeting of the Assembly of CITEL .

10. Communications Wireless Internet will be available for use by delegates at the event venue. Participants will be responsible for paying their domestic and international telephone bills.

11. Rooms for Bilateral Meetings Two meeting rooms will be available for bilateral meetings of Ministers and Heads of Delegation. To reserve the room, kindly e-mail the “Room Request Form for Bilateral Meeting” (Appendix II) to the Executive Secretariat of CITEL, by March 12, 2018 at email [email protected] , indicating ‘Reunión Bilateral / Bilateral Meeting’ in the subject line of the email.

12. Media An area or room will be available for all Ministers or Heads of Delegation for press conferences and interviews with the media. 13. Medical Care

As the meeting host, the Government of Argentina will provide duly accredited participants with emergency medical care at the site hotel. Via ambulances, medical care will also be provided during the various activities planned for the meeting.

Participants are responsible for the costs of any subsequent medical care.

Delegations are requested to specify any medical care needs in the ‘Other special personal information’ section of the General Information form (Appendix I). It is recommended that participants have insurance with international major medical expense coverage.

14. Security Throughout the event, the necessary security will be provided by the Argentine government. However, it is recommended to be careful with your personal items.

15. Other Items of Interest

a. Ciudad de Buenos Aires It is the capital of the Argentine Republic. It has a European architecture style, and offers tourists numerous museums, exhibition halls, art galleries, cinemas and theaters. It is the financial, stock exchange and economic headquarters of the country. Its commercial activity is very intense, reflected in numerous stores of the main world brands, galleries and shopping malls. Its nightlife is very varied and it extends until very late at night. Nightclubs, restaurants, confectioneries and many other attractions for all tastes are throughout the city providing innumerable choices to tourists. The obelisk of Buenos Aires is a National Historic Monument and an icon representative of the city. b. Language Spanish is the official language; English is widely spoken. c. Electricity Electric current in Argentina is AC 220-380 volts. Hotels usually have voltage adapters of 110 Volts.

- 8 - d. Climate The climate of Buenos Aires - tempered and humid - is mild throughout the year; therefore, there are few days of intense heat and cold. The normal temperature at this time of year range between 17 ° C and 26 ° C with an average temperature of 22 ° C. e. Currency The peso ($) is the official Argentine currency. Although the dollar is generally accepted, the exchange of currencies in national currency is done in banks and authorized houses. The most frequent credit cards are American Express, VISA and MasterCard. The exchange rates can fluctuate. As of 01/12/2018, the official exchange rate for the dollar was: USD 1 = $ 19.00.
