Oceania Athletes Commission Report 2016. – Barbara Kendall Chair Firstly I would like to thank the amazing members of the ONOC Athletes Commissions and all the other chairs and members of their NOC Athletes Commissions in Oceania. You are all doing a great job in being that voice for the athletes. We would like to welcome Ryan Pini who was voted in at the Pacific Games as the athlete’s representative on the Pacific Games Council and a big thank you to Carl Probert for the last four years in this very important role.

The ONOC Athletes Commission has had another busy year with staging the 2nd Oceania Athletes Forum, running the Voices of the Athletes Education booths at the Pacific Games and Youth Commonwealth Games plus running the IOC athletes career program - Excellence for Life in three NOC’s.

The following is a report on how we are tracking on the strategic plan of the ONOC Athletes Commission.

The core functions of the ONOC Athletes Commission 1. Encourage and support Athletes Commissions 2. Represent the views of athletes 3. Develop the Capacity of Oceania Athletes 4. Ensure the wellbeing of Oceania Athletes.

1. Encourage and support the Athletes Commission We have all 17 NOC’s with a compliant Athletes Commission. The athlete’s commissions that are being well supported by their NOC are making amazing progress and are adding great value to the governance and outcomes for their NOC and for athletes.

Just a reminder that there is a tool kit in place to assist your athlete’s commissions mailto:http://www.anocolympic.net/documents/

2. Represent the Views of Athletes Oceania Athletes are well represented on many decision making boards Internationally.
