GRANFONDO STELVIO SANTINI – 7th Edition SUNDAY, JUNE 3rd, 2018

REGULATIONS

The A.S.D. Unione Sportiva Bormiese, affiliated with the Italian Cycling Federation with Company Code 02Y3602, organizes on 03/06/2018 the 7th Edition of the cycling event called GRANFONDO STELVIO SANTINI, open to all FCI and other cycling bodies amateurs.

1. PARTICIPATION The following categories are eligible for this event: LONG ROUTE Male categories FCI amateurs from ELITE to SPORT MASTER 7 (from year of birth 1954 included, to year of birth 1999 included) Female categories FCI amateurs from ELITE WOMEN to SPORT MASTER 2 (from year of birth 1954 included, to year of birth 1999 included) Participation is open to all FCI or other cycling bodies members of both sexes and foreigner riders owning a UCI recognized cycling licence or other cycling bodies license. MEDIUM and SHORT ROUTES Besides all the FCI amateurs categories, from JUNIOR SPORT to MASTER 8 (from 17 years old- year of birth 2001) both routes are allowed to all cyclists (from 15 years old -year of birth 2003). The medical certificate submitted must be valid on the date of the event. For underage participants we require also a specific request signed by a parent or guardian. All registered participants MUST WEAR A HELMET and must respect the rules of the road code. Professional riders, Elite (men and women) and men under 23, are admitted exclusively for promotional purposes and subject to invitation from the Organizing Committee and will in no way be included in the standings (see 1.1 below). We will not accept the registration requests from athletes who have been subject of sanctions for doping by the sports or ordinary justice. The organization reserves the right to cancel registrations of participants that fail to provide the necessary data and documents. 1.1. The participation of former pro athletes is permitted only in the following cases: - Athletes with a professional contract (Elite with contract): 4 years after the last year of their contract - Athletes U23: 2 years years after the last year of their contract and not before the age of 25 years of age - U23 Athletes who have only one year of membership - Athletes Elite without contract: 2 years after the last year of their contract - Women Elite: 2 years after the last year of their contract

2. MEDICAL FITNESS CERTIFICATE Everyone participating in the event must have a sports medical fitness certificate; foreign participants must have a fitness certificate drawn up in accordance with the form E - Health Certificate (see attachment B) For every participant, either resident in or abroad, the fitness certificate for participation must still be valid on the day of the competition. The DataHealth service will ascertain the possession of a valid medical certificate; therefore, for participants resident in Italy and abroad, the medical certificate required by this regulation must uploaded to and validated by the DataHealth service (www.datahealth.it) within May 15th 2018. Subscribers who do not utilise the DataHealth service to verify the possession of an appropriate medical certificate will be required to provide a valid copy of their certificate directly at the competition venue; this will entail less simplified procedures for verifying participation requirements. Remember that it is not enough to have a membership card of a sports association.

3. REGISTRATIONS Entries must be received within May 5th 2018 at 12:00 pm. All riders can enter online through the official Granfondo website starting form October 23rd 2017 www.granfondostelviosantini.com

4. REGISTRATION FEE The planned registration fees are: - € 60.00 from 23rd October 2017 until 31st March 2018 - € 70.00 from 1st April 2018 to 15th May 2018 on May 15th – registrations will closed if the maximum participants number is reached. ( 3500 ) The registration fee includes: - RACE NUMBER customized with your name - TIMING SYSTEM with chip system. - RACE PACK including COMMEMORATIVE SANTINI JERSEY (the ordered size), VARIOUS GADGETS - 5 FOOD STOPS along the routes (TEGLIO, TOVO S. AGATA, MORTIROLO, , 3rd CANTONIERA STELVIO) + REFRESHMENTS on top of the STELVIO - 6 POINTS of MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE (TEGLIO, TOVO, MORTIROLO, BORMIO, 2nd CANTONIERA on STELVIO) - PASTA PARTY from 12.00 at the Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Bormio.

5. CHANGING THE REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION The organizing committee will accept the replacement/change of an athlete’s name only with through a written request, stating the new name and submitting related documents no later than 15.05.2018 (12:00 pm) and on payment of an additional fee of € 10,00 for administration expenses. The cancellation of an athlete’s registration will only be accepted if a written request for cancellation will be received within 15.05.2018 (12:00 pm). The fee will be considered valid for the 2019 edition but not transferable to another person (NOTE the registration will be valid only for the following year). After that date, those unable to attend, can request (via email) to receive their race pack at home (shipping costs charged to the recipient). The registration fee is non-refundable.

6. PICK UP of RACE NUMBER and RACE PACK Race pack collection is organized at the Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Bormio, Via Manzoni, in the following days and times: - FRIDAY, June 1st from 15:00 to 20:00 - SATURDAY, June 2nd from 9:00 to 21:00 - SUNDAY, June 3rd from 5:00 to 6:30 It’s forbidden to cut, hide, write on or wrap your race number around your frame. You must place your BIKE RACE NUMBER ON THE FRONT OF YOUR HANDLEBARS, extended and clearly visible, and YOUR PERSONAL RACE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR JERSEY ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE. Improper use of the chip will result in the non-inclusion in the ranking and the non-attribution of the time. The race number and chip are strictly personal and not transferable to third parties – this will result in immediate disqualification. 7. TECHNICAL BRIEFING A race briefing is organized on SATURDAY, June 3rd at 18:00 at the Palazzo Pentagono, Bormio. We strongly suggest you to attend as we will introduce all the info on the race and the 3 routes and will give you useful tips for your safety and fun during the event.

8. RACE START MEETING AND STARTING GRIDS The race start meeting is scheduled from 5:45 to 6:45 at via Al Forte, Bormio, where you will be directed to your starting grid. The division of the grids will be defined after May 15th 2018 and communicated to all the participants, in order to assure maximum safety for everyone. We will also inform the participants on the road closures of some of the routes sections.

9. START The start of the Granfondo for the MEDIUM and LONG ROUTES is scheduled from 7:00 (from BORMIO, Via Al Forte). The start of the SHORT ROUTE will follow.

10. ROUTES The planned routes are as follow: - SHORT ROUTE; Bormio, , Bormio, Passo Stelvio KM. 60 - ascent 1,950 meters - MEDIUM ROUTE; Bormio, , , Teglio, Tresenda, Stazzona, Tirano, , Bormio, Passo Stelvio KM. 137.9 - ascent 3053 meters - LONG ROUTE; Bormio, Tirano, Bianzone, Teglio, Tresenda, Stazzona, Tirano, Tovo, Mortirolo, Grosio, Bormio, Passo Stelvio KM. 151.3 - ascent 4058 meters PLEASE NOTE: the participation of the event is open to all FCI and other cycling bodies licenced riders, in possession of a medical certificate for the practice of competitive cycling and to all foreign cyclists in possession of a regular UCI license valid for the year 2018, issued by their National Cycling Federation or other recognized cycling bodies. Foreign riders who are not in possession of a license must present at registration, a medical certificate attesting the status of eligibility for participation in a sporting event of competitive cycling. This certificate must be valid on the date of the event.

11. TIME LIMIT The time limit at the start of the Stelvio Pass climb is scheduled for 14:15. Riders starting their Stelvio ascent after the time limi twill not be considered in the ranking. 12. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE Along the course there will be four roving ambulances with one additional ambulance stationed at the start/finish.

13. MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE There are 6 mechanical assistance points: TEGLIO, TOVO (medium and long routes) in 2 points, on top of the MORTIROLO, in BORMIO and at the 3rd CANTONIERA STELVIO. There is no moving mechanical assistance during the Granfondo. The assistance by the mechanical service will be of prime necessity and not for repairements or replacements of parts that involve careful works. In the case of replacement of spare parts the cost will be charged to the participant. According to FCI regulation for amatorial cycling events (rule 3.6.01 MECHANICAL ASSISTANCE), private mechanical assistance and among competitors is strictly forbidden. In case of need, participants will have to use the mechanical assistance provided by the organization or to make their own repairs. Under no circumstances private or teams cars and motorcycles following participants are allowed. The organization of the event is required to verify, with the help of the Event Judges, full compliance with this rule and will be held responsible for any infringement. Participants that will benefit of this type of assitance, will be disqualified.

14. BEHAVIOR ON ROUTES During the event and on all the 3 planned routes we require the absolute observance of the Highway Code to all the participants, with particular attention when descending downhill and passing through the urban centers. The Granfondo Stelvio Santini organizers kindly ask you not to throw away any waste along the race course. The penalty of disqualification from the race will apply. There are many organized green areas where you can throw away your garbage. Your Granfondo Stelvio Santini jersey has an extra pocket on the side. You can use it to keep your gel and bar wrappers, plus any other waste until your reach a green area. GREEN AREAS are placed at the following points on the routes: after TEGLIO food stop, after food stop, at the 3rd, 6th and 9th km of the MORTIROLO climb, after MORTIROLO food stop (at the end of descent of MORTIROLO), on top of the LANDSLIDE, after BORMIO food stop, at the BAGNI VECCHI (the 3rd km of the climb of the Stelvio), after the 3rd CANTONIERA food stop. 15. INSURANCE AND DAY LICENCE Each participant in possession of a valid race licence is considered covered by insurance. Those who are not in possession of a race licence, must purchase a FCI day racing licence that will be valid for the day of the events only and will ensure full insurance to the athlete.

16. STANDINGS The Gran Fondo Santini Stelvio is a competitive amatorial event that considers 1. Detection of the start-finish time, indicating, in alphabetical order, the total time of each participant 2. Ranking of the overall time spent on 3/2/1 hill climbs (long / medium / short routes) indicating the absolute position and that of each category 3. Ranking of the time spent on the single hill climbs (Teglio, Mortirolo, Stelvio) with indication of the absolute position.

17. AWARDS The following participants will be awarded: - GF STELVIO SANTINI KING/QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAIN; the winner, man and woman, in each category based on the total times taken on the hill climbs– Teglio, Mortirolo and Stelvio (short, medium and long route). -TEGLIO/MORTIROLO/STELVIO KING/QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAIN; the absolute winner, man and woman, of each hillclimb time trial (Teglio, Mortirolo, Stelvio) - The three teams (excluding USBormiese which is organising the event) with the largest number of entrants (from 10 cyclists upwards) - The first team with the highest number of athletes at the finish - The older and younger male and female competitors The category Prizes not collected during the awards will not be mailed to the address of the winners.

18. EVENT CANCELLATION/ROUTES CHANGES If, in the event of any circumstances beyond the organizer’s control, the event is not held, the race entry fee will not be refunded nor transferred to the following year. Also, in the event of any circumstances beyond their control, the organizers reserve the right to change the route, even during the race.

19. CHANGES TO THE REGULATIONS The organization reserves the right to make changes to this Regulation at any time in its sole discretion. All information and official statements regarding the event can be found on the websites www.granfondostelviosantini.com and www.usbormiese.com 20. MISCELLANEOUS US Bormiese accepts no responsibility for itself and its staff, for any accidents or damage to persons and / or property, which may occur before, during and after the event or as a result thereof. US Bormiese can decide to exclude athletes who have incorrect behavior before, during and after the event. Moreover, the competitors who will be found throwing waste and all kinds of objects outside the dedicated green areas spaces located near the food stops will be disqualified and will not be allowed to participate in the following year’s event.

21. SIGNATURE By submitting the online registration form or the hard copy registration form, the competitor declares to be in possession of the valid medical certificate required, to be in possession of a regular cycling racing licence and insurance for liability to third parties and to have read in full the Regulationa and the instructions contained in this document accepting unconditionally every point. The participant also gives consent to the use of its images and its data, in accordance with the Privacy Act no. 196/2003.
