STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 1989 No. 2088 PUBLIC HEALTH, ENGLAND AND WALES PUBLIC HEALTH, SCOTLAND PUBLIC HEALTH, NORTHERN IRELAND CONTAMINATION OF FOOD The Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Contamination of Feeding Stuff) (England) (No. 2) Amendment No. 2 Order 1989 Made - - - - 12th November 1989 Laid before Parliament 13th November 1989 Coming into force - - 13th November 1989 Whereas the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is of the opinion, in accordance with section 1(1)(a) of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985(1), that there has been or may have been an escape of substances of such descriptions and in such quantities and such circumstances as are likely to create a hazard to human health through human consumption of food; And whereas the said Minister is of the opinion, in accordance with section 1(1)(b) of the said Act, that in consequence of the said escape of substances food which is or may be in the future in the areas described in the Schedule to the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Contamination of Feeding Stuff) (England) (No. 2) Order 1989(2), as amended by the following Order, or which is derived or may be in the future derived from anything in those areas, is, or may be, or may become, unsuitable for human consumption; Now, therefore, the said Minister, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said section 1(1) and (2) and section 24(1) and (3) of the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:– (1) 1985 c. 48; see the definition of “designating authority” in section 1(2) and “the Ministers” in section 24(1). This Order may be cited as the Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Contamination of Feeding Stuff) (England) (No. 2) Amendment No. 2 Order 1989 and shall come into force on 13th November 1989. Amendment of the principal Order 2. The Food Protection (Emergency Prohibitions) (Contamination of Feeding Stuff) (England) (No. 2) Order 1989 shall be further amended– (a) by omitting from the Schedule to that Order (the designated area) the areas described in Schedule 1 to this Order; (b) by inserting in the Schedule to that Order at the end the further areas described in Schedule 2 to this Order. The Annual Governance Report was discussed and it was RESOLVED to sign it, proposed by Cllr Taylor, seconded by Cllr Kitto with all in favour. 5 Unitary Councillors’ Reports. Cllr Pascoe reported that Cornwall Council has elected a new leader, Julian German. Cllr Pascoe attended the Safer A38 meeting and things are moving on, with talks to the Ministers by the local MP. The meeting was also discussed at the recent Community Network Area Meeting. Cllr Pascoe attended the reception for the Cornish Rugby Team, which has won the Beaumont Trophy. Cllr Pascoe said that she had been devastated to learn of the fire at Dobwalls Football Club and has offered her Community Chest Fund to help towards the cost of repairs.
