I hope this message finds you safe and well in the new Wesley’s Impact reality we are facing in 2020. While Wesley Community Center works to help those in need due to the pandemic crisis, I want to take the opportunity to look back and celebrate accomplishments of 2019. I’m so proud of our Wesley clients and all they have been able to achieve O because of your support! 498 87% 89% School-age Youth Had a positive view participated in after school Learned to resolve conflicts about their future and in-school activities Your commitment helped thousands of families meet basic needs and start the journey out of poverty to self-sufficiency. 710 Individuals received coaching from 186 Children received early childhood education One thing that I have always loved about Wesley is our holistic approach to clients. An example from last our Financial Opportunity Center to prepare them for Kindergarten year is incorporating mental health education into our after-school programming. Counselors taught groups of 3rd graders to identify and control their emotions. Both parents and students extolled the benefits of this activity and we look forward to expanding this program. I also was thrilled to see our Pre-K children and seniors participating in activities together to create great relationships between these two generations. We expanded available opportunities for job training in 2019. Our program teaching residential construction skills gave our neighbors a pathway into an in-demand industry. I hope you enjoy learning more about the lives you change with your gift. Wesley has always been focused on serving our neighbors and with your help they are thriving. In 2019, we also took time to look at the future of Wesley. Wesley ended the year with a new strategic direction – deciding to stay in the Near Northside while expanding much needed services to neighbors across the city. None of the accomplishments this year were possible without you— our donors, our volunteers, and our partners. Your commitment to Wesley and its clients propelled all of the progress highlighted in this report. For that and for all you do, I am truly grateful. Families received Parents received Seniors received nutritious Individuals received emergency rental and parenting and meals and fellowship in emergency food to help Sincerely, utility assistanceto stay education support our Senior Program feed their families in their homes
