MY KARGIL WAR HERO
CAPT MANOJ KUMAR PANDEY . PVC
The Kargil war was an armed conflict fought between India and Pakistan from May to July 1999 in the Kargil district of Kashmir and elsewhere along the Line of Control .
“If death strikes before I prove my blood, I swear, I will kill death!”
These lines were said by my HERO CAPTAIN MANOJ KUMAR PANDEY . The brave son of our motherland and my Ideal.
He was born in a village named Rudha in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh his mother and father were Mohini and Gopi chand pandey. Captain’s father was a small time businessman in Lucknow city. Captain was the eldest ward of his parents. Manoj Kumar Pandey completed his education from UP Sainik School, Lucknow and
Rani Laxmi Bai Memorial Senior Secondary School. Captain had a great attraction and interest in sports like boxing and bodybuilding.
Few peoples are didn’t know that he was the Best cadet in JD, NCC, Uttar Pradesh directorate in1990.
When he went for his SSB interview, the interviewer asked him a question that “why do you want to join the army?” captain immediately answer that “ I want to win Param Vir Chakra.”
The process of NDA and SSB’s ended and Manoj Kumar Pandey was known as the commissioned LT Manoj Kumar Pandey.
Manoj Kumar Pandey, An officer of the 1st battalion, 11 Gorkha Rifles (1/11 GR), he was killed in battle on Jubar Top of the Khalubar Hills in Batalik Sector of Kargil.
He graduated from the National Defence Academy in 90th course and belonged to Mike Squadron . Pandey was commissioned a lieutenant in the 1st battalion, 11

In the month of May the enemy’s were trying to capture our posts . That message and order was forwarded to the 1/11 gorkha rifles and the order was to take charge on our own posts . This was commanded by colonel Lalit Rai.
In July ‘B’ Company of 1/11 GR was given a mission to capture Khalubar top. Manoj Kumar Pandey was commanding a Platoon in this B company. Captain along with his paltan lead the war between them and the enemies .
He capture and burst the bunkers. While aiming for another attack Captain got fatally injured by a shot on his forehead but that didn’t stop him from destroying the evils of enemies.
And yet again a brave son of India martyred his life for his motherland.
So many memorial’s are named after CPT MANOJ KUMAR PANDEY.

The another example is NDA’s science block named after his bravery as CPT MANOJ PANDEY BLOCK.
His statue is at the Param Yodha Sthal at the National War Memorial.
