“SWING INTO SUMMER SAFETY” WITH THE

Dear Fire Chief / Fire Prevention Officer:

The Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council is pleased to announce that we will once again be partnering with the Toronto Blue Jays to bring fire safety to the forefront in the summer of 2014. This year, Blue Jays all-star relief Steve Delabar is the campaign spokesperson.

Every fire department across the province is invited to participate in this exciting initiative. We have two opportunities available as outlined below. Be sure to register for the complimentary campaign materials even if you are registering for the possibility of hosting a launch event.

Opportunity # 1 - Register to receive FREE campaign materials for your community The campaign features a series of collectible Blue Jay player cards with fire safety tips on the back, posters and banners. A limited quantity of these campaign materials will be distributed free of charge on a per capita basis while supplies last. A one-time opportunity to purchase more of these materials and additional items in support of the campaign is also available. Last year over 180 fire departments participated in the “Swing into Summer Safety” campaign.

Opportunity # 2 - Register for your opportunity to host an official campaign launch event You will need to create an event that is of interest to the media to generate increased awareness about the “Swing Into Summer Safety” campaign. All departments in Ontario who would like to host a launch in their community in support of the campaign are invited to submit the attached participation form. Five fire departments from various areas of the province will be randomly selected from all submissions.

Details for both opportunities are outlined in the attached documents. To register and to order additional materials, please complete the attached “Swing Into Summer Safety” registration forms and return them prior to Tuesday March 18, 2014 by fax at (866) 379–6667 or email [email protected].

We invite you to “Make a Life Saving Catch” for your community. Working together we can reduce fire losses and lives.

Please call toll free 1-866-379-6668 ext. 103 if you have any comments, questions or suggestions.

Yours in fire safety,
