El mundo actual tiende a ser más multilateral, en el sentido de más actores económicos relevantes y, por lo tanto, cada vez son más numerosos y más significativos los temas que requieren propuestas y soluciones globales, tales como los vinculados con la alimentación, la energía, el medio ambiente, las migraciones y el ordenamiento monetario y financiero internacional. En tal contexto, la economía argentina puede encontrar un sendero favorable para un desarrollo sostenido, de largo plazo y con capacidad de inclusión social. She specializes in Latin American literature of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, with a focus on Caribbean literature. Daniel Bonilla Dr. Bonilla is Associate Professor at the Universidad de los Andes School of Law in Bogotá, Colombia, from which he graduated in 1994. He earned his J.S.D. degree from Yale University. Dr. Bonilla is Director of the Public Interest Law Group of the Universidad de los Andes. Among his most recent publications are La Constitución Multicultural (The Multicultural Constitution) and Hacia un Nuevo Derecho Constitucional (Toward a New Constitutional Law). As Director of G-DIP, Dr. Bonilla works with students to bring cases before the Constitutional Court relating to a broad range of issues including racism, discrimination, indigenous rights, and the environment. Rachel Meneguello Dr. Meneguello holds a Ph.D. in social sciences from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas UNICAMP, Brazil. A Professor of Political Science at UNICAMP, a researcher at the Center of Public Opinion, and the editor of Public Opinion magazine, she specializes in the study of political parties and electoral behavior. Eduardo Rios Neto Dr. Rios Neto is Professor of Demography at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He has served as president of the Brazilian Population Studies Association and has collaborated on several joint projects with the UT Population Research Center. -

Annual Report 2007 5 years 2 Annual Report 2007 · Presentation he present report includes a summary of the main activities by the Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL) organized during 2007: the events organized in Buenos Aires, Montevideo and TSantiago de Chile; Documents and Research Reports published during this period; the articles reproduced in diferent media outlets; and a selection of the most important Institutional News; and finally, some of the comments of the participants in the Seminar “Economic Information”. Regarding publications, CADAL edited 17 Documents, 9 Research Reports, 1 book and 21 interviews were done, 13 of which were published in a double page of the Sunday suplement El Observador of Perfil newspaper and one of them and the Sunday Suplement Séptimo Día of El Nuevo Herald newspaper. The complete version of the publications is available of the website of CADAL and many of them are also in English. Besides, during 2007 CADAL organized 32 events; 24 in Buenos Aires, 7 in Montevideo and 1 in Santiago de Chile, and 9 training meetings. A total of 77 different speakers took part, in the events and training meeting, .
