Both were presented with cups by Juvenile Chairman, Michael Geaney and Camógie Chairperson, Denise Morris. Many thanks to the Geaney family for sponsoring the trophies. The efforts of the under-12 camógie and hurling teams mentors made all of this possible so a big thank you to you all. It was a hugely enjoyable month for the families and friends of all involved.

JUVENILE NEWS

Hard luck to our UNDER-16 FOOTBALLERS who lost out in an extraordinary North final this evening by two points to a strong Inane Rovers team. Well done to our UNDER-16 HURLERS and mentors and captain, Cian The game was played with great O’Brien who won the Shield at the Holycross 7-aside tournament pace and intensity from the throw in recently. They beat Silvermines 6-08 to 1-06 in the final. Congratulations with wonderful goals scored by both lads! teams. Eleven goals were scored in total, not to mention the great saves made by the Inane and Nenagh goalies. Final score Inane Rovers 7-02 Nenagh Éire Óg 4-09.

The lads can be proud of themselves as all have been proud of this great bunch of young men for the last ten years. They wear their jerseys with great pride and we all look forward to supporting them and the management team of David Minogue, Eamon O' Brien and Noel Coffey during the hurling season.

Our under- 14 footballers interest in the championship ended recently with a defeat to Inane Rovers in the North semi-final. The lads put in a gallant performance however and can be proud of their performance. Attention now turns to the hurling championship which begins on the first Wednesday in June. 1947 was a memorable year for hurling in Nenagh as the old St Mary's club captured North titles in both the minor and intermediate grades. The minors overcame Toomevara while the intermediates defeated Shannon Rovers in their final. Since then there has been a senior team in Nenagh.
