Since found ing their own com pan ies, Naomi Ry land and Lisa Jaspers have been on the lookout for mean ing ful busi ness ad - vice. Ad vice that helps to build great com pan ies, but that also re ects the chal lenges of our times: cli mate change, deeply di vided so ci et ies, grow ing in equal ity, and a dis il lu sioned and burnt- out work force. Hardly any of the ad vice they heard from the star tup world, and read in busi ness books, seemed up to the chal lenge.

They wanted to run their busi nesses di er ently. Be kind, co- operative and cre ate a work en vir on ment every body loves. High stand ards they were ready to apply and whole- heartedly em body. Aer a while they real ized they had failed these goals to truly break out of the sys tem. In stead, they had fallen back into old habits that they had learned and in tern al ized from pre vi ous jobs.
