A new style for the third FERRATUS

Type of wine: Red wine Denomination of origin: Ribera del Duero Variety: 100% Tempranillo. Vines between 20 and 30 years old in gobelet. Land: Vineyards in the municipalities of , y Moradillo de Roa. Harvest: Hand-picked in 15 kg boxes and selected on table in the winery. Elaboration: Stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. Ageing: French oak barrels and a small percentage of American oak, until it reaches its optimum level of roundedness. Bottling: From August 2014 on the estate. No cold stabilising. Consumption temperature: Between 16 and 18ºC depending on the ambient temperature, thermal sensation or time of year. Date released on to the market: September 2014. Limited production: 50,000 bottles of 0.75 l. Alcoholic strength: 14% vol. Total acidity: 5.3 g/l.

TASTING NOTES

FERRATUS AØ 2013 is a wine that continues the modern line of its predecessors, with youthful airs in its design and conception, a beautiful picota cherry red colour with violet highlights and excellent depth to suit its style and purpose.

Aromas of red and black berries with floral notes (violets), together with subtle touches of tobacco and vanilla provided by the aging in an unusual selection of oaks.

In the mouth the wine is soft, ripe and appetising, with properly polished, well-integrated but still apparent tannins. A well-structured wine with bite, volume and a good palate.

In short, this is a modern type of wine with an exclusive style and a certain complexity, largely due to the fact that FERRATUS AØ 2013 has all its malolactic fermentation in the barrel, with stirring and aging on its finest lees at the same time.
