TCSG and GICA Transfer Articulation Agreement
Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and Georgia Independent Colleges Association (GICA) Transfer Articulation Agreement Introduction This agreement formally recognizes that TCSG, GICA and its 24 member institutions, are active educational partners in providing educational opportunities for currently enrolled and prospective students of both TCSG and GICA member institutions. Agreement to this partnership requires a commitment by all entities to serve and to facilitate a student’s ability to transfer select coursework without jeopardizing the intended mission and stated goals of any participating entity. Agreement on Communication TCSG and GICA agree to cooperate in communicating with each other concerning this articulation agreement between the two agencies and the institutions they represent. Communications may include common publications and announcements concerning their affiliation. Announcements of this articulation agreement and its updates will have a coordinated release to the public from both agencies. GICA will provide TCSG annually the name and contact information of the primary contact for this agreement at each participating institution. TCSG and GICA’s member institutions will encourage the dissemination of information about programs in this agreement with interested and qualified students, with both agencies providing advising and counseling to prospective students. Agreement of Admission A TCSG student having a minimum 2.5 GPA for all academic work attempted at a SACSCOC accredited TCSG institution and an Associate of Applied Science or Associate of Science degree from a TCSG institution will be admitted to participating GICA member baccalaureate degree granting participating institution according to Appendix B. GICA member baccalaureate degree- granting participating institutions may deny admission only if coursework beyond the two-year degree falls below minimum admission standards or applicants are not in good standing.

The campus consists of approximately 18 buildings that provide over 435,000 square feet of space. LIFE’s beautiful campus has highly sophisticated facilities and has the possibility to add new programs and majors at the University. The University is located at 1269 Barclay Circle in Marietta, Georgia. The main campus is approximately 15 miles northwest of the heart of Atlanta. MARK KOVACS PRESENTS ON SPORTS TECHNOLOGY AT EMORY SPORTS MEDICINE SYMPOSIUM Marietta, Georgia, March 29, 2018 – Dr. Mark Kovacs, the Director of the LIFE Sport Science Institute (LSSI) and Associate Professor in the Department of Sport Health Science at Life University (LIFE), presented at the 11th Annual Emory Sports Medicine Symposium on March 24 and 25, 2018. Emory Sports Medicine Center and the Emory University School of Medicine hosted the annual symposium, which highlights the latest information about sports medicine, performance and injury rehab. Dr. Kovacs presented alongside the team doctors from the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Georgia Tech and Emory University. He presented an impactful summary of the latest sport science and medicine technologies that are practical and applicable to athletes. The presentation was titled How Is Technology Going To Improve My Athlete’s Performance in 2018. “This was an outstanding symposium that brought together some of the leading professionals in sports medicine in the greater Atlanta area who are experts in different aspects of performance and injury prevention,” says Dr. Kovacs. “The team doctors from the major professional sports in Atlanta were present, and it provided great dialogue and discourse about how to continue to improve the quality of care, training and rehabilitation for athletes at the highest level, as well as for the weekend warrior and youth athlete.” The purpose of the symposium was to provide the most up-to-date information for professionals interested in the diagnosis and management of the shoulder, knee, ankle, hip and other medical issues affecting athletes. The team approach was emphasized, using case presentations, injury updates of current recommendations and methods for return to sport in common areas.

NO. 2 LIFE UNIVERSITY MEN'S WRESTLING TEAM REPEAT AS MID-SOUTH CONFERENCE SOUTH DIVISION CHAMPIONS Marietta, Georgia, February 8, 2021 – The No. 2 nationally ranked Life University (LIFE) Men's Wrestling team captured the Mid-South Conference (MSC) South Division title for the second consecutive year after defeating No. 6 Cumberland University and Brewton-Parker College on Friday, February 5, 2021. The Running Eagles defeated Cumberland 39-8 before downing Brewton-Parker 49-0, totaling seven pins on the day over the two matches. A member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Life University Athletic Department fields 23 teams in 11 women's sports, 11 men's sports and one coed sport, in addition to club and intramural athletic programs. LIFE student-athletes have earned both team and individual national as well as MSC Championships, All American, All Conference and academic honors. Randy McCray, Jr. got the action started early at 125 lbs. in the match against Cumberland. He earned a 7-1 decision that was followed by Quin McGlamery, who picked up his third consecutive win via pin fall in 4:35. Logan Sims totaled a 9-2 win in the 141 lb. class as the Running Eagles led 12-0. Cumberland picked up a win at 149 lbs. before Jack Bass earned the pin in 2:37 at 157 lbs. Cumberland won its second matchup of the dual at 165 lbs. earning a tech fall, but a 20-3 tech fall from Asher Eichert at 174 lbs. put Life U ahead 23-8. Baker Hadwan extended the lead with a 12-3 major decision.
