BULLOO ODYSSEY
Thargomindah, on the banks of the Bulloo River, is situated in the spectacular south-west Corner Country, 200kms west of Cunnamulla. Take a walk along the Bulloo River, and the Heritage Trail and visit historic Leahy House, and the old Thargomindah Hospital, and Printery. Explore the old and new Cemeteries, and Lake Bindegolly National Park, where birdlife and wildlife abound. Visit Thargomindah’s Hydro Power Plant Display, enjoy the wildlife, examine historic sites, go fishing or yabbying, be mesmerized by our magnificent sunsets, or simply commune with nature.
Day One: Thargomindah – Hungerford – Currawinya & Lake Bindegolly National Parks
Visit Hungerford’s historic Royal Mail Hotel, situated next to the Dingo Barrier Fence and Border Gate. Travel to Currawinya National Park to explore the Woolshed, the Granites, Lakes Wyara and Numalla, and old Caiwarro Homestead. Return along the Eulo Road, stopping to see Lake Bindegolly National Park.
Day Two: Thargomindah – Noccundra – The Dig Tree – Epsilon Station
Photograph the Dingo Barrier Fence and Grey Range, whilst journeying to Noccundra Waterhole on the Wilson River. Call into the Noccundra Hotel before setting off for the Burke and Wills Dig Tree on Cooper Creek. Experience our famous ‘Outback’ hospitality and stay overnight at Epsilon Station.
Day Three: Epsilon Station – Cameron Corner – Eromanga/Quilpie
Indulge in breakfast at Epsilon Station. Drive to Cameron Corner, where the three States meet. Travel the bulldust track to Noccundra, then journey to Eromanga or Quilpie to continue your ‘Outback Odyssey’.
