Category: Anniversary Promotion: We wanted to celebrate the birthday of the branch opening. We decorated and involved Walmart with dressing up and promoting our birthday, because it was their birthday, too!

Decorations: We threw an 80’s-themed birthday party with neon decorations, and vinyl records hung around the branch.

Category: Anniversary Promotion: On November 15, 2012, we held a “Lucky Number 7” promotion. We emailed a variety of questions to customers. When they responded by a specific time, the customer received a gift. We also served cake to our customers to celebrate that we’ve been “serving” them for 7 years! Decorations: To celebrate our promotion, we had a table set up with our cake and serving supplies. Budget: $25-$50

Goal/Results: Our goal was to boost in-store branch morale while also increasing the visibility and awareness of TS Bank among Hy-Vee shoppers and Idea Exchange Idea Exchange Idea Exchange Idea Exchange employees. We opened 2 new accounts, and TS Bank employees enjoyed the day, winning “7” related prizes when they answered questions related to the number 7.

Category: Customer Service Promotion: We held a medical-themed promotion February 8-18, 2013 to grow our members’ relationship with us. We offered a “financial check-up” for members and non-members to receive a full financial review. Our branch activities included “See You Out Front” time where we mentioned the promotion to each passerby. We used our whiteboard to spark conversations and schedule “financial check-up” appointments .

Decorations: We utilized our whiteboard to garner awareness of our promotion. Staff members carried clipboards and wore scrubs, stethoscopes, and nametags with creative names such as Dr. Anita Loan and Dr. Rainn E. Dayfund. Category: Customer Service Promotion: We held a football-themed promotion January 7–February 8 to highlight our customer service. We created a short “Rate the Play” survey (see accompanying photo details), which we handed out to each customer and asked them to rate our customer service. Decorations: We decorated the branch with football cutouts, “It’s Game Time” banners, and teller “stats.” We also set up a tailgate and 3 signs to promote loans, investments and mortgages. Customers also filled out positive comments on the “Rate the Play” survey.

Promotion: At the beginning of the week, all employees were given five silly bands. We then listened to each others’ conversations with customers, and each time we heard someone cross-selling, we awarded them with a silly band. If the employee did not cross-sell during the transaction, we were permitted to steal a silly band from them.

At the end of the week, whoever had the most silly bands was awarded with a gift certificate.

Game/Activity For the month of February, we played the game CANDY BINGO, where we used candy instead of numbers. Summary: Each employee received forms which explained how to earn a square. They were responsible of keeping track of the products and services they sold, and once they earned a particular type of candy, they could cross it off of the board!

Game/Activity You roll the die once each time you loaded a loan application. Move your assigned game token the number of spaces indicated on the die. Summary: Landing on Black Circles: If you land on a black circle, draw a card and follow the directions.  If you are to receive a prize from the branch manager and she is not in, you would e-mail her and she would put the prize in your box on her next shift.  Any prize that will affect the schedule must have prior approval to use.  Each card may only be used once per game. Place the card in the discard pile after use. Category: Employee Games & Contests Game/Activity During our weekly Monday staff meeting, we include an "Employee Kudos" session as part of the agenda. Summary: We block out at least 10 minutes to give all staff (Tellers, Member Solutions Representatives and Management) a chance to recognize and thank each other for some of the things we've done the prior week.

Some of the things our staff recognizes include:  supporting and going above and beyond to help a peer  jumping in to assist with a complex transaction or member request  individual sales achievement

The result of this activity creates a very positive environment for the meeting, the entire day, and carries over for the remainder of the week. It is also a morale booster for everyone on the team and improves employee satisfaction as the kudos go from peer to peer, manager to employee, and employee to manager.

Category: Employee Games & Contests Game/Activity The management team wanted to come up with a way for the entire branch to work together to accomplish our sales goals. For the staff, Summary: it is easy to become overwhelmed when held to a monthly quota of such a wide array of products. The “Days of the Week” promotion gave the staff a strategy and approach to help ensure their success with ease. The Days of the Week activity had a different sales focus for each day:

 Mortgage Monday: MSR’s and Tellers work together to refer our Mortgage products.  Time Tuesday: Focus is on time accounts. Our primary goal on this day is to obtain Financial Service referrals for investments or retirement accounts. Secondly, our goal would be to offer our credit union timed accounts such as CD’s or IRA’s.

Idea Exchange Idea Exchange  Will Wednesday: We focus on referring members to our Idea Exchange Idea Exchange representative for Wills and Trusts.  Titled Thursday: Focus is on titled loans.  Focus Friday: We choose our focus for the branch. This day is especially good as a catch-up day if we are lacking in any specific area.  Sign Up Saturday: We focus on bringing in new memberships, kids accounts, and asking our members refer their friends and family to the credit union.

We posted our results for each day with a removable number so the next week we can have a number to beat.

Game/Activity The contest ran throughout the month of July where the branch employees were able to receive up to 10 Milk-Bone® biscuits for Summary their respective dog bowl. Employees received a Milk-Bone® biscuit each day they collected 2 Enrichment referral cards and completed 2 PAs. Cancer

To complete the dog bowl, employees needed to earn a dog tag, which was achieved by referring 2 new accounts.

The doors of the branch were decorated with pictures of dogs, , and little bones that went into the dog bowls.

Decorations: In order to promote the new app, we all dressed up as M&M’S® and gave away M&M’S® with a card that customers could scan to automatically download the app. Promotional PA: “Hello, Hy-Vee shoppers! Your finances are nothing to snicker at. Consider opening a free checking account at TS Bank where you can choose an option that best fits your lifestyle! There aren’t any tricks at TS Bank–only treats! TS Bank & Hy-Vee–today, tomorrow, together!”

Game/Activity Each year, our Blairsville location creates 1-2 different incentives to motivate our employees and help us reach our goals. We ended Summary: 2012 with an incentive called “Spin to Win.”

Our mascot was a tiny white character that we named UGO (United Growth Opportunity). We met monthly at 8:15 am to celebrate everyone’s achievements and track the bank’s progress. Our bank president conducted the meeting with a PowerPoint presentation, and upbeat music played as everyone gathered for the meeting.

We also sent a weekly email to share the bank’s overall progress for Idea Exchange Idea Exchange Idea Exchange Idea Exchange the week and highlight the employees who had earned tokens. We also updated our bulletin board as a daily reminder of our incentive and everyone’s achievements.

The “Spin to Win” incentive was successful because it created great energy among all bank employees, which helped them reach their goals. Category: Fundraising Promotion: From October 1-28, 2012, we held a “Stand Up to Cancer” promotion where we generated awareness of a variety of cancers and raised funds for the Kasasa giving campaign. Staff members conducted business development in the aisles, shared the promotion information with customers at the teller line, and also talked with customers in the dining area while giving them refills on their coffee. Decorations: We dedicated each weekend to a different cancer and decorated the branch according to that cancer’s ribbon color. The first week was dedicated to breast cancer, so we had pink lemonade, pink bracelets, stickers, cookies, mints and ribbons, and all TS Bank employees wore pink. The next week was "Gold Weekend" for childhood cancer, the third weekend was “Gray Weekend” to raise awareness of brain cancer, and the last week was “Employees’ Choice” where each employee could choose their own ribbon. Category: Fundraising Promotion: We started our Turkey Bowl promotion on November 1. As customers brought food donations to our in-store branch, they were entered to be selected as one of our five bowlers.

On November 17, we set up a bowling “lane” and had our five winners bowl frozen turkeys. The winner received a $500 TwinStar Visa gift card. The Walmart-donated turkeys used for bowling were given to the families who bowled. We advertised this event inside our Walmart, on our local radio station, and at CAP, a local food bank. It was a great event to build our business relationship with CAP and Walmart.

Decorations: We decorated with a turkey-bowl theme throughout the whole branch. Dollar Dog, our kids account mascot, joined the fun and made an appearance at the event. Category: Home Equity Line of Credit Promotion: During the month of June, we held a promotion to increase loan productivity and overall customer awareness of Citizens National Bank. We handed out flyers that said "Knead Dough?" and mailed the same flyer to our customers who had only a checking account with us and could potentially take advantage of our lending services. Our branch activity included wearing aprons and chef hats while serving warm chocolate chip cookies to customers.

The aprons were provided by a business customer of ours who sells them, which enabled us to promote her business as well. The team wore tiaras and crowns and met each Friday to review product knowledge. Following each Friday’s meeting, we held tea parties for little girls, serving tea and cookies, and Knight classes for the boys, where we taught them how to be gentlemen (i.e., holding doors, saying please, and thank you). We also passed out princess and Knight tattoos to the kids.

We also took turns standing at our front table to interact with the shoppers in Walmart and encourage them to participate in our drawing. Decorations: We decorated the branch with cotton balls hanging from the ceiling like falling snow. We used cotton balls to display the promotion name and display our rates.

Budget: Under $25 Goal/Results: We had a goal of financing 5 loans for winter toys, as well as strengthening our relationship with our local businesses and advertising our rates. We ended up financing 6 winter toys within the 2- week promotion!

To reinforce the relationship with our local dealerships, we offered to add their names on our promotion board and drive business from our members to their dealership to finance a winter toy. In return, they gave us donations and prizes to use as giveaways.

Business development activities included daily aisle walks where we distributed “Debt Roundup” flyers and free MVFCU calendar mouse pads. Decorations: To fit with our cowboy theme, each employee attached a sheriff badge to their nameplate, promotional posters included a traditional "wanted poster" background, fun lettering, and sheriff stars. Our business development activities included giveaways for opening an account such as movie passes, goodie bags, and paper money vouchers to be redeemed for a free credit union shopping bag.

Our business development activity included a fundraiser for Relay for Life where the SAC team sold lollipops for $1.00 and $3.00. The price was dependent upon the size of the lollipop. Decorations: We decorated the branch with a rainbow made of tulle, cardboard cut-out of the Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow, and Tin Man, tornado, Emerald City, yellow brick road, poppy flowers, lollipops and witch legs. Starbucks provided trays of free samples that we distributed during aisle walks. We also offered a drawing for a Flip cam, iTunes gift cards, and T-shirts. Decorations: We decorated the dining area with two large panels that had our bank logo on them. The band played in front of the panels, and we also set up a table of goodies. We hit the aisles giving members a taste of TwinStar celebrity life, offering goody bags and inviting shoppers to join the credit union. We also had a "spot the celebrity" challenge where we placed Elvis throughout the store challenging shoppers to be the first one to bring him back. The winner received a free coffee at Starbucks. Decorations: We decorated with a Hollywood Premier night theme. We used a large marquee sign to draw in the eye. We wanted people to feel like they were attending a red carpet event when they entered our branch. They were even greeted by one of the most recognized celebrities in the world...ELVIS! Category: Savings/Checking Accounts Promotion: Between September 3-28, 2012, we held a “Pick Your App!” promotion to increase the number of new “apps” (loan apps, membership apps, or smartphone app downloads) received by the branch. For business development, each staff member spent their aisle walk time mentioning this promotion to shoppers and store employees. We also had a raffle near the end of the month for a gift certificate to a local apple orchard! Decorations: We cut out a large number of apples from red and green construction paper and hung them all around the branch. We also had apples in a basket on a table for shoppers to take and signs saying "Pick Your App!"
