The status of Selandria albomarginata Snellen van Vollenhoven (, )

Snellen van Vollenhoven (1858) described the Selandria albomarginata after three females, one from The Hague, col- lected by himself in April, and two from Utrecht, collected by Six on the 20th of May, no year known. Six is most likely G.A. Six, who became a member of the Dutch Entomological Society in 1852- 1853 and died in 1899; he lived until 1871 in the city of Utrecht. Konow (1905) listed Selandria albomarginata Snellen van Vol- lenhoven as a synonym of Sciapteryx costalis (Fabricius), a view adopted by later authors (e.g. Enslin 1912, Taeger et al. 2010).
