Give every moment momentum Audio communication solutions for the mobile worker

9 You don’t go to work. You are the work. This is not your father’s office: 40 per cent of IBM employees don’t commute to a permanent office at all,1 and 90 per cent of enterprise employees spend at least some time working off-site.2

It’s no wonder that mobile workers have created Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). They are self-supplying the tablets, smartphones, laptops and audio devices that make the most sense for them. The level of BYOD has reached 66 per cent among European workers, 71 per cent in Asia, and 75 per cent in North America.3 As a result, the average number of connected devices per knowledge worker is expected to reach 3.3 by 2014.4

But is it working? What can you do to give your mobile life momentum, be efficient, and make sure that you can hear and be heard wherever you are?

Getting out, but not getting ahead.

More than 70 per cent of mobile workers say they’re less % 70 productive in coffee shops, and on planes and public transport.5 So where and how can you become more LESS PRODUCTIVE efficient? Check out how to be a digital DIYer now. How to be a digital DIYer

Stay Connected – Not all public hotspots or Wi-Fi connections are created equal. Before going to the nearest café and struggling with a spotty connection, read reviews on WorkSnug.com or Yelp to discern a hotspot’s reliability. While Wi-Fi on rail service — especially in first class — is increasingly available, consult your rail service's Web site prior to departure. Flyers can use a site such as RouteHappy.com to purchase flights based on Wi-Fi availability.

Stay Charged – Packing charging cables is a fact of life, but extended and backup batteries ensure that you never lose important work to a dead battery. Audio solutions such as the BackBeat® GO 2 wireless earbuds come with a charging case that keeps batteries charged for up to 14.5 hours of talk and call time.

Stay Synced – Mobile work is more effective if your data travels above you in the cloud — not with you on a drive. The great thing about cloud applications such as and iMeet® is that your files and meetings are accessible anywhere, at any time, and on any device, so that changes are reflected everywhere, simultaneously.

Stay Secure – While IT departments have begun to accept BYOD, they’re aware of its inherent challenge: securing sensitive data as it roams about the globe on various devices. Most companies will install software to track, remotely lock, and even remotely wipe your devices in the event that they’re lost or stolen; reach out to your IT department for an approved resource.

2 Mobile workers are having more conversations. But not clearer ones. In noisy environments, an email or text is often sent in preference to having a conversation. But it’s not working. When surveyed, professionals cite the high likelihood of misunderstandings with texts, how email invites uncertainty, and that the best way to get to immediate answers is a conversation.6 Plantronics has pioneered technology that cancels not only noise but also wind and echoes, so that whether you’re on the road, in an airport or hailing a cab, you can have clear conversations that sound professional.
