Born in the lush farming hills of Ohio under the sir name of Ridenour, Gary Chase learned his work ethic early. From the industrial side of his fathers jet aircraft mechanics, to his family's farming heritage, he labored at an early age. Gary also sang, picking up the guitar in his teen years, and then moving to Nashville, TN with Roger Bowling. He was co-writer of songs, "Lucile" and "".

Gary had moved to Florida a few years prior, where his father moved the family to work in the aerospace industry and worked on Saturn Five Moon Rockets, as well as the Shuttle program to feed his family. Gary sang in Nashville with the highlight of being paid as a demo singer for Warner Bros Music, singing the demo for Tommy Cash's top ten hit, "She Met a Stranger, I Met a Train". Gary got married at eighteen to a beautiful voice instructor and friend who later toured the country with him in the many configurations of "The Gary Chase Band".

His wife Valerie also wrote for the Country Fan and trade magazines, interviewing such greats as Waylon Jennings and the aforementioned Kenny Rogers. Gary continued to hone his craft as an artist playing such notable venues as the International Hotel in Palm Springs, California and the Midland Country Club in Midland Texas for the Bush Family.

Finally settling in the Florida Keys where he played for twenty seven years at such notable places as Capt. Tony's and even Sloppy Joes. Gary has a love for sailing which was honored by sailing on the Flagship of the Conch Republic the "Wolf" as the minstrel for several years. Through the many stages of love, Gary's wife met with a tragic end, dying of cancer. She left Gary and her followers sad and disheartened. Gary finally picked up the pieces and is ready to perform by himself or with his many musical friends. Oh by the way, Gary's band actually fronted "Jefferson Starship" in Key West in the late nineties with George Turner on lead Guitar formally of the Kris Kristoferson group and on congas Carlos Carrabellia of Santana. Gary's six pieces did quite well that evening.

On Gary's website, www.GaryChaseAndFriends.com, are several MP3 studio recordings of original songs recorded in Key West and Nashville. This is how Gary Chase and Friends manage to sound under major recording conditions such as twenty-four tracks. Gary is equally at home playing by himself at the Grand Cafe, such as he did on Duval Street in Key West a short time back. If I've peaked your interest, sit back and listen to the original sounds and songs written by Gary and his former wife Valerie. Imagine Gary sitting in front of you playing live to his own songs as well as some very creative versions of popular songs written by other artists. God bless you for your interest in Gary Chase.
