Texas Tech will continue to volunteer in East Lubbock on Friday mornings of each home football weekend throughout the 2021 season. n Texas Tech’s student-athletes participated in two peace walks last summer, one in East Lubbock and the other on campus in what was referred to as the “Red Raiders United” walk, which was at- tended by Mayor Dan Pope and Lubbock P.D. Kansas State 0-2 0-1 0-1 0-0 The arrival of Wells and his staff was a welcome sight for Brooks, who thrived in a new defensive scheme that helped him rank among Michigan State 0-1 0-0 0-1 0-0 the national leaders in total tackles and tackles for a loss. Brooks was a regular in the backfield as he notched 20.0 tackles for a loss as Montana State 1-0 1-0 0-0 0-0 a senior, the most for a Red Raider since Adell Duckett set the school record in 2003. He averaged 1.8 tackles for a loss per game, which Nevada 1-1 1-0 0-1 0-0 ranked second in the FBS despite Brooks missing significant time in November due to injury. New Mexico 4-2 2-1 2-1 0-0 National pundits also noticed Brooks’ efforts as he was tabbed a second team All-American by multiple publications following the New Mexico State 1-1 1-0 0-0 0-1 season. It marked the first time a Tech linebacker had earned first or second team All-America accolades since College Football Hall of Northern Illinois 1-0 0-0 0-0 1-0 Famer and Ring of Honor member Zach Thomas in 1995. Oklahoma 0-2 0-1 0-1 0-0 The Seattle Seahawks agreed with many of the awards committees as well, selecting Brooks with the 27th overall pick of the 2020 Oklahoma State 1-1 1-0 0-1 0-0 NFL Draft.
