Childrens End of Summer Celebration with Sciencetellers Thursday, August 10th @ 4:30pm @ American Legion 190 Glen Head Rd. Glen Head All Ages. Sciencetellers is a creative, unique, and highly interactive program combining exciting experiments with dynamic storytelling. Set sail on a thrilling action-packed adventure about a crew of quirky pirates marooned on a desert island. With mutiny and high-tide looming, they must rescue their salty captain and find a way to build a new ship before all hope is lost … at sea!

Throughout the story, audience volunteers will help the presenters explore the incredible science behind clouds, combustion, air pressure and more. Do not miss this refreshing nautical tale with a twist!

BUS TRIP Enjoy a Day Trip to Historic Greenport Tuesday, September 19th, 10AM departure from the American Legion 190 Glen Head Rd. Glen Head In just a few short decades, the beautiful North Fork, previously known for its potato and produce farms, has become a stellar wine producing region and a great place to go wine tasting. Since the first vineyards were planted in 1973, the Long Island wine region has continued to grow, from 17 vineyards in 1996 to triple that today, while receiving high praise from some of the wine industry's best known critics. First stop is an herb garden for a 30-minute tour. Then enjoy a tasting of wines, cheese and crackers. From there enjoy lunch on your own in the historic town of Greenport. Lastly, we will depart at 4:15 on a boat ride around the bay to enjoy the sights of the bay, lighthouses, Plum Island, and much more! A non-refundable $90 fee is due at time of registration.

Parents, grandparents, and caregivers read to their children each week, and then visit the library to report on their books and receive prizes!

Build a Better World with Imagination Playground Wednesday, July 19th

Build an Edible Sand Castle Friday, July 21st 10:30am or 4:30pm 2017 Build a Better World Design Contest Grades K-2. Build the ultimate sand castle out of Rice Color an original picture or construct an object based Krispie® treats, ice cream cones and candy! on the Build a Better World theme.
