Community Events Ken Burns Country Music Screening: KOSU screened previews at Circle Cinema in Tulsa, ​ Oklahoma State University Student Union in Stillwater and Tower Theatre in . Before the screening, KOSU staff spoke about public radio. Total attendance for the three events held on August 25 was 743 people. Civics Day: KOSU General Manager Rachel Hubbard served as a judge and advisor to ​ students competing in Civics Day on May 10. Students presented an idea for their community, and she provided feedback about how such an idea might be received and reported on by a public radio journalist, allowing the students to refine their presentations. More than 200 students were present. Concerts: KOSU set up tables at 14 community concerts to provide information about public ​ radio and opportunities available for careers and public involvement. Total attendance was 1227. Groundsource Text Club: KOSU is committed to community input in its journalism and the ​ training of citizen journalists. To that end, the station regularly invites listeners to suggest story ideas or offer story input via text message. As of January 30, 2019, 1104 people were part of the text messaging group. KOSU General Manager Rachel Hubbard serves on a program advisory committee for the department of Agricultural Communications at Oklahoma State University. As part of this, she provides advice to faculty to ensure current audio production techniques and journalism standards are part of the curriculum.
