One is openly requested by one of the synagogue officials, and the other an attempted "theft" by a woman who suffered from hemorrhages for twelve years. Both miracles clearly show the desire of their hearts and the yearning of their souls to meet Jesus, the healer and savior.

They had a strong faith and the conviction that Jesus could do what the world couldn't do. They were completely sure that the prophet of Nazareth, of whom they have heard great things, would answer posi- tively to their request.

In both cases, we see faith in action. For the woman, it was clear that even though her sufferings and the time that she wait- ed for the big moment with Jesus, her liberation, healing, and salvation could arrive in Jesus' time for it. She was never disap- pointed or her faith broken because the solution to her problem took so long. It was a perfect time to wait in the hope of the great day of her salvation. Faith moved her to know that through it, she would see the glory of God in her life. She was not afraid or ashamed of the crowd. Her action and the reaction of Jesus simply teach us that coming and touching Christ must be a very deliberate action motivated by a living faith.

In the case of Jairus, he probably heard about Jesus and the way that he had performed many miracles. In a spontaneous act, motivated by the need to see his daughter healed, he did not hesitate to fall at Jesus' feet and, with confident faith, asked him to lay his hands on his daughter because, in faith, Jairus knew that she would get well. However, ignoring the bad news about his daughter's death, he continued walking with Jesus. Thus, both Jairus and the woman never gave up; instead, they waited patiently until God's plan was fulfilled for them.

A good lesson for us is that sometimes our faith falters because we have minor disappointments, or sometimes we must wait for God's time.

God bless you, Please join us in celebrating Independence Day (July 4) at the 10:00 AM Mass! Fr. Alfonso Cely Pastor

RETIRING AFTER 23+ YEARS OF SERVICE Michelle Wieber began working in our parish on October 17, 1997, under Fr. Anthony Pons, when there was just one computer in the office that used floppy discs. She continued working in the Church Office for the next 23+ years. Many priests would be assigned to St. Ann's. Michelle started as a volunteer in Vacation School. Then she was recruited as a cate chist for the Religious Education Department and continued to teach at every level through Confirmation; then, Youth Ministry became her passion. Michelle first joined the 9:00 AM Mass when it was the "Guitar Mass" and went on to help with the Chil- dren's Choir with Pat Smith. She became a Lector along the way.

Michelle said, "I always wanted to do something with and for people. Working and worship- ing at St. Ann's gave me that opportunity. I have always tried to do my job to the best of my ability and be as welcoming as possible. The people here at St. Ann's are the very best! Thank you for sharing your lives with me and mine with yours."

We would like to wish Michelle a happy retirement filled with good health, fun travel, enjoying her family, rest and more.

Thank you for your faithful years of service and dedication to St. Ann Catholic Church. God Bless you.

Please join us in wishing Michelle farewell on July 4, 2021 at the 10:00 AM Mass. St. Ann Catholic Church & Staff

ILDEFONSUS SCHUSTER Ildefonsus was born in Rome to a family of modest means. He entered the Benedictines, was ordained, and pursued studies in history, art, and liturgy. He became an expert on the liturgy and authored an acclaimed study of the Roman Missal. In 1929, Ildefonsus was elected Archbishop of Milan, which had about three million inhabitants and nine hundred parishes. He immediately set up a rigorous schedule to visit all of them over a three-year rotation, which he kept vigilantly in all seasons, often traveling on foot. Certain that the key to conversion was a renewed focus on the , he supervised new editions of the liturgical books for Milan’s own liturgy, the Ambrosian Rite. During World War ll, Ildefonsus worked tirelessly to clothe the poor and visit the war-wounded. In 1945, be- fore Mussolini tried to flee Italy, Ildefonsus urged him to surrender and do penance. Mussolini rejected the cardi- nal’s appeal and was assassinated only three days later. After the war, Ildefonsus worked to rebuild the bonds of love and trust among his people through Eucharistic and Marian devo- tion and parish missions. To his seminarians on the very day he died, he offered this concise legacy: “You want something to re- member me by? All I can leave you is an invitation to holiness.” Father in heaven, through the intercession of Blessed Ildefonsus Schuster, help me to respond to the invitation to holiness that is offered to me in the concrete circumstances of this day. View this bulletin online at www.DiscoverMass.com HEAD OF THE HOLY FAMILY …As head of the Holy Family and Light of the Patriarchs, St. Joseph is the model of who we should be as fathers and providers. Jesus gave us His mother as our own, and by virtue, we were also giv- en a father figure in St. Joseph, her true spouse, and foster-father of our Lord and Savior. St. Joseph teaches us to flee when necessary, stand strong when needed, listen to the angels, listen to God always and provide for those God has given us. We need to be paired with this ideal role model to adequately lead our family and raise our kids with the virtues of the holy family. I encourage all fa- ther figures to pray the litany of St. Joseph regularly. I still sometimes fail to call on St. Joseph and pray the litany, but when I do take the time, I can attest that it works on your heart, mind, body, and soul. The litany influences your life and your actions in the Domestic Church and the Universal Church. As we continue our pilgrimage on earth, may we look to St. Joseph as a model for us all, and may we conduct ourselves in the likeness of St. Joseph. Page 5 June 27, 2021 View this bulletin online at www.

Muchos sacerdotes serían asignados a St. Ann's. Trabajar y pertenecer a St. Ann's me dio esa opor- tunidad.
