eading by example was Lt.-Col. Jean Maison- Lneuve’s strength while he was the Command- ing Officer of 429 Transport Squadron Bisons over the past two years. His many accomplishments were recognized on June 18 as he handed over command of the Bisons to his successor, Lt.-Col. Bill Church. His time as the CO of 429 Squadron flew by, as he predicted when he took over command in 2013, but he was not idle while leading this renowned trans- port squadron. “We have rewritten the air bridge doctrine as we know it,” he told his troops at 1 Hangar, and he and his squadron brought the troops safely home from Afghanistan, he deployed DART not once but twice – to the Philippines and Nepal, his squadron flew re- cord payloads of over 148,000 pounds in support of Op IMPACT and they relentlessly supported and en- abled global and domestic operations during those two years. “Be proud of your accomplishments,” he told the Bisons on parade. “I am!” As busy as that time period was, it got even busier once the squadron took possession of the fifth CC- 177 Globemaster. “Since then, you guys have been working full throttle,” he noted. “Our mission success is directly Lt.-Col.
