How it works... Up to six family members can share their iTunes Store, iBooks Store, and App Store purchases, a family calendar, and family photos without having to share the same Apple ID. Once you’ve set up Family Sharing, all the songs, albums, movies, TV shows, books, and apps ever purchased by family members are immediately available to everyone else in the group. Pay for family purchases with the same credit card and approve kids’ (read=members’) spending right from a parent’s (read=organizer’s) device. The content appears automatically in the Purchased tab in iTunes, iBooks, or the App Store for each family member. Just select the family member whose collection you’d like to browse, then download or play the content you choose. Other family members can access your collection in the same way. If you want to keep some purchases private, you can choose to hide individual items. Share photos, a family calendar, and more to help keep everyone connected. Family Sharing requires you to sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID. You will also be asked to confirm the Apple ID you use for the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store. Family Sharing is available on devices with iOS 8 or later, Mac computers with OS X 10.10 or later, and PCs with iCloud for Windows 5 or later. You can be part of only one family group at a time and you can switch to another family group ONLY Once per calendar year. You can only set up and delete two Family Sharing groups a year. That means that if you start a family group and then delete it, you can only initiate the process one more time. , movies, TV shows, and books can be downloaded on up to 10 devices per account, five of which can be computers. Not all content is eligible for Family Sharing. Content can be hidden by family members; hidden content is not available for download. Content downloaded from family members or acquired via redemption codes is not subject to “Ask to Buy.” In the United States, the family organizer can enable Ask to Buy for any family member under age 18; for children under age 13, it’s enabled by default.
