Her 2013-4 piece 4Chambers, an ode to the heart, enjoyed an extended run and has inspired her to create experience based work. Oberfelder has received commissions from American institutions that include University of Hawaii, Middlebury College, Wayne State University, Moravian College, and Alfred University. For 16 years, Oberfelder was a Teaching Artist for Lincoln Center Institute in New York. As dance filmmaker, she has created ten films screened in over 30 festival including The Cannes Short Film Festival, FRAME: The London Dance Film Festival, Lincoln Center’s Dance on Camera Festival, Bryn Mawr Silver Screen, Fargo Film Festival, and The Dance on Camera Festival. Opera and theater commissions include Don Pasquale, Divaria Productions a reimagined Purcell’s Dido & Aeneas (commissioned by The Orchestra of St. Luke’s), and Stravinsky’s L’histoire du Soldat. The company has been commissioned Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra to create a new staging Kurt Weill’s musical play “Zaubernacht” in March 2018. Jody Oberfelder Projects has performed at Gallus Theater (Frankfurt, Germany) and NOD Theater (Prague, Czech Republic), Dance Place (Washington DC), Southampton Cultural Center (NY) Jacob’s Pillow, The Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Dance New Amsterdam, MASS MoCA, Washington College, and The Yard in Martha’s Vineyard. Oberfelder has also presented work at Dance New Amsterdam, Abrons Arts Center, Lincoln Center’s Clark Studio Theater, Dixon Place, Symphony Space, The Jewish Museum, The Flea Theater, Joyce SoHo, and PS 122 at home in New York City. The company has toured to internationally to Guelph Dance Festival (Canada), Centre National de la Danse in Paris, Die Werkstatt in Dusseldorf, The Pusan National Theater in Korea, The International Festival of Modern Dance in Seoul, and The Belgrade Dance Festival Jody Oberfelder Projects (with performances at The Belgrade State Theater in Serbia and the State Theater of Montenegro in Podorica. Upcoming performances include “Audience of One” for InSitu Site Specific Dance Festival (July 8,9 in LIC) and a fall tour to Braga, Portugal to Theatro Circo for The Brain Piece, and “Castle Walk” a performance inside a seventeenth- century Baroque Palace Biscaínhos. 3 dancers Mary Madsen is a midwestern girl from Wisconsin holding a BFA from the University of Milwaukee-WI (2003). Mary has been collaborating and dancing with Jody Oberfelder Projects since 2013. In addition, Mary is the assistant rehearsal director and a long time performer for Third Rail Projects, Then She Fell. In past years Mary has had the pleasure of working with: Megan Bascom & Dancers, the Resonance Collective, Elia Mrak (Seattle), Regina Nejman and Company, Kelly Anderson (Chicago), John J Zullo Dance, David Appel Dance, Rebollar Dance Theater (D.C.), Simone Ferro (Milwaukee), and Foothold dance (Milwaukee). She defines herself as: always a collaborator, often a performer and occasionally a choreographer and creator. Mary is most inspired by friends, traveling, nature, and generosity. Pierre Guilbault was raised in Vancouver, B.C. and moved to New York in 2012 after graduating from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Dance. He has a background in Ballet and Contemporary, and has studied film and theater acting in the past. He has done extensive work in and around the Merce Cunningham workshops at the West Beth and City Center spaces. Hannah Wendel is from Seattle, Washington and graduated summa cum laude from the Boston Conservatory, where she was awarded the Julie Ince Thompson Scholarship for Choreography. In her last year there, she performed as a guest artist with Karole Armitage at the Institute for Contemporary Art in Boston. Hannah has been dancing with Jody Oberfelder Projects since November 2015 and has toured with her to Southampton NY, Washington DC, Frankfurt, Germany, and Prague, Czech Republic. She has also performed with The People Movers in New York and has starred in Nocturnal Patterns, directed Christian Sorensen Hansen at Lightbox Studios in The Bronx. She has performed her work at Jody Oberfelder Projects Gowanus Arts and Productions in collaboration with Groupmuse, at the Never Before, Never Again Festival at Triskellion Arts and recently collaborated with Anna Reyes on a performance, Forget All This in conjunction with Columbia University at Abrons Art Center. She will be traveling to the Bamff Centre in October with Anna Reyes for a residency for her newest work Plastic Identities. Hannah has performed closely with Elia Mrak in both Seattle and New York and has most recently produced, in collaboration with him, an evening length show, Performance and a Party. In addition to creating and performing 4 dancers Hannah is a certified yoga instructor and hosts donation-based improvisation workshop and jams called spacejam. Emily Giovine is a Dancer and yoga teacher living in Brooklyn. After graduating from Barnard College, she has performed at various venues in NYC with artists such as Shandoah Goldman, Stephanie Nelson, Jules Bakshi and Bill Young. She’s thrilled to join Jody et al in this adventure. Carmen Caceres is a dance artist, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She received a BA in Dance and Education from SUNY Empire State College, and studied at the former Merce Cunningham Studio in NY. She also graduated from the National School of Dance and the National University of the Arts, in her native city. Past collaborations include Isabel Lewis, Lisa Parra, Sarah Berges, and Elia Mrak. Carmen also creates dance works through her company DanceAction. Carmencaceres.com Cecilia Fontanesi is an Italian dancer, PhD candidate in Neuroscience at CUNY, Certified Movement Analyst (CMA) at LIMS®, and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). She currently collaborates with IDACO Italian Dance Connection, Jody Oberfelder Projects, and Parcon NYC. She combines performative practice with research in neuroscience, and clinical work as a dance/movement therapist, crossing the boundaries between dance, movement, neuroscience, and biology. Cecilia is investigating the effects of dance in Parkinson’s, as well as working with people living with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Lindsey Mandolini is a professional dancer, choreographer, and performance artist based in Brooklyn, New York. She received her BFA in Dance from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Lindsey has danced for Jody Oberfelder Projects Regina Nejman & Company, The Moving Architects, and LEIMAY - artistic directors Ximena Garnica & Shige Moriya. Maya Orchin has worked with Luis Lara Malvacias, Zoe Scofield, Davis Freeman, Joanna Mendl Shaw, Madeline Hollander, Reut Shemesh among many others. Her work has been shown at The 5 dancers 92nd St Y, Judson Church, Center for Performance Research, and internationally for Quartiers Danses Festival in Montreal Canada, and at Dock11 in Berlin Germany. She has most recently been a performer in the European tour of ‘Room 29’ with Jarvis Cocker and Chilly Gonzales. Bo Pressly a North Carolina native, is a graduate of Southern Methodist University from where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts under the direction of Myra Woodruff. As an international artist, Bo has appeared in fashion magazines, motion pictures, national and international campaigns. Bo made his New York City debut with the Martha Graham Dance Ensemble and later performed with The Merce Cunningham Trust, Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company, and is currently a principal with Hyonok Kim Dance Art. Jule Jo Ramirez holds a B.A. in Theater Arts/Dance. She resides in New York where she has worked with Stephan Koplowitz, David Gordon, Artichoke Dance, Arthur Aviles Typical Theater and Ann Carlson among others. She currently
