Elton Ford returned to action at Alabama and has started each of the last six games. Ford missed the final four games of the 2008 season and dressed but did not play the first two games this year. As a true Arkansas’ schedule includes games against freshman last season, Ford earned the starting position at free safety for the first eight games before teams that have won each of the last three national breaking three vertebrae in his neck during the Ole Miss game. Ford spent the next 3 1/2 months wearing championships (Florida 2006, ‘08; LSU 2007). In- a neck brace to restrict his movement. He was cleared for non-contact drills in the spring of 2009. After cluding this year’s meeting with Florida, nearly 10 months, the first day of full contact drills for the Razorbacks was August 10, 2009.

NEXT UP Cornerback Isaac Madison suffered a knee injury during August drills. During a scrimmage on August Nov. 28 at LSU, Baton Rouge, La. 15, Madison tore the ACL in his left knee that will cause him to miss the 2009 season. Arkansas travels to Baton Rouge, La., to end the regular season against LSU on Saturday, Nov. 28. After receiving a medical redshirt in 2008 due to a hernia and a hamstring injury, Jerell Norton returned The two will meet for the 55th time in the history to action against Missouri State. SEC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Dennis Johnson ranks fifth in the SEC and ranks 25th nationally with an average of 27.1 yards per Sept. 5 - Missouri State kickoff return this season. Johnson has had four kickoff returns of 50-or-more yards this season. His 894 co-Special Teams - Dennis Johnson kickoff return yards rank as the second-highest single-season total in school history. 2 KOR, 115 yards, 1 TD (91 yards) Dennis Johnson returned the season opening kickoff 91-yards for a touchdown to join Clemson’s C.J. Oct. 3 - Texas A&M Spiller as the only two players in the nation to return a kick for a touchdown to start the year for their Defensive Lineman - Tenarius Wright team. Johnson’s return for a touchdown was the second in his career (Tulsa, 2008, 96 yards).
