Lisa first came to NAC when her daughter, Angela, was 14 months old. Angela had epilepsy and was often hospitalized. The stress and worry about her daughter’s health, along with living in a shelter, was overwhelming for Lisa; and the family was at risk of being separated. Lisa knew that NAC has the largest she needed help. Joseph and Michael first came to foster care at NAC when they were 3 and 6 years old. At the time, Joseph’s birth mother told NAC that she was frustrated because Joseph couldn’t talk. NAC’s team of professionals quickly diagnosed Joseph’s profound deafness.
