LSU took its third SEC Championship at 197.40, followed by Alabama (196.975) and Florida (196.825). The Gators led at the midway point, but a miss 2018 NCAA University Park Regional Schedule calculated in its floor rotation dropped UF in the standings. Junior Alicia Boren claimed a share of the SEC floor title (9.90) and took second in the all-around. McMurtry was a double-winner in the SEC Awards revealed March 29. McMurtry is the 2018 SEC Event Specialist and SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She is the second in SEC history to claim a gymnast of the year and scholar-athlete honors in the same season. McMurtry is the first to do it twice (2017 SEC Gymnast and Scholar-Athlete). Five Gators picked up National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC) Regular- Season All-America honors, announced March 28. McMurtry (vault, bars, beam - all first team) and Boren (all-around, beam, floor – all second team) each claimed three honors.
