Rick Morris is Manager of Sports at the in Anaheim, Calif. Morris joined the Disneyland Resort in 2005 and today, is responsible building relationships with existing Southern California sport events and attracting new sports events and affiliated visitors to the Anaheim Resort area in conjunction with Sports Anaheim and managing runDisney events including the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend, the Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend, the Light Side Half Marathon Weekend and the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend.

Prior to relocating to Southern California, Morris was based at World at the Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. For three years, he served as the sales manager for Atlanta Braves spring training games, the Orlando Rays (minor league affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) and Disney Created Baseball tournaments.

Morris fulfilled a life long dream of working for Disney after retiring from the energy company BP Amoco in 1999. At BP Amoco, Morris spent 29 years as an executive and lived in South America, Europe and Africa. While living in Bolivia, Morris led an effort to start an organized youth baseball program which produced approximately 2,000 youth baseball participants. Morris also hosted the first women’s national baseball tournament in Bolivia featuring four Bolivian women’s teams, and has sat on the Board of the National Women’s Baseball League.

Rick has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Wyoming, a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from the University of Colorado (Denver), and a Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. Morris is currently working on his doctorate in Sport Management at the United States Sports Academy. He has also been an adjunct faculty member at Regis College in Denver, the University of Phoenix and Warner Southern College in Florida.

An avid athlete, Rick has finished 27 marathons and completed the Ride the Rockies and Registers Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa cycling events.

A Cheyenne, Wyo., native, Rick currently resides in Romana, Calif., with his spouse, Cindy, who have five adult children, one granddaughter and one grandson.
