Editor’s Note This year marks many great changes for The Chestatee Review. In addition to publishing our annual I learned this technique in an art appreciation class back in 2012. The process, writing contest winners and the works of art students, we’ve added three new sections that though frustrating at times, grew on me. As an aspiring photographer I like to showcase the talent of UNG’s student body. The three new sections this year are Visual Poetry, Faculty Favorites, and Special Topic Winners. To keep up with our growing content, we have made display this different look to people. Instead of just taking one picture of them The Chestatee Review larger this year; a change that I think aptly reflects the new direction that we’re sitting in the car I took around 300 pictures, printed them off in 4x6 format, and going in. We’re now on the forefront of establishing a solid community of creative and committed arranged them in a way to abstractly rebuild the car. I used extra pictures for the students who can take these accomplishments and skills with them for the rest of their careers. background and cut them into various shapes to change the “texture.” I have been honored to serve as editor this year and am thankful to so many who have helped me and the progress of the magazine as well. First, I’ll thank the student staff that show up for 8 a.m. This particular piece was a wedding present for my brother Matt and sister-in-law orientations to tell new students about writing and publishing, bounce ideas around about how we can make the magazine better, and, the best part, do all this for free.

  • Download Our 2018 Festival Program
The Artemis Women in Action Film Festival 2018 Welcome to The Artemis Women in Action Film Festival! Our team is incredibly proud to offer the fourth edition of a singular and very special event - one dedicated to female action and empowerment heroes. This has been one truly groundbreaking year: We've seen a female superhero shatter records at the box office, the first women join the elite Rangers in the US Army, women speaking out about pressing issues, and so much more. An incredible year to be sure. The festival continues to grow – this year we received more submissions, have more screens and additional panel discussions, and just generally more kick-ass women. If you love movies, we have a great weekend for you! Our festival this year includes a stellar array of over 75 films: Shorts and feature length films, fiction and documentaries, all covering a huge variety of subjects and genres, and all focusing on powerful women. Some use their fists while others use their minds to make the world a better place, and then they use all their resources to execute those strategies turning dreams into reality. The Artemis Awards Gala continues the tradition of recognizing the great talents that continue to revolutionize the female action genre: Michelle Rodriguez, Ming-Na Wen, Rosemary Rodriguez, TJ Scott, Dana DeLorenzo, Debbie Evans, Alicia Vela-Bailey, Kachina Dechert, Danielle Burgio, Heidi Pascoe, and Cassandra Ebner. They are badasses behind the screen and on it, warriors and heroes proving that women can do anything. Our enormous gratitude to the dedicated people who make this festival possible.
