Design-Build Concrete Replacement & Repairs TPC Scottsdale $838,515

After the success of the Champions Course Job Order Contract for Concrete Repairs and Rehabilitation, DBA was once again selected for additional work at the course under a Design-Build contract. Through years of use and heavy traffi c associated with the Waste Management/ golf tournaments, TPC Scottsdale, in collaboration with the Thunderbirds and the City of Scottsdale, contracted to completely renovate the existing Stadium Course. Several task orders were undertaken to include demolition and removal of damaged or uneven concrete cart paths and replacement along nearly 25,000 LF of pathway; 13,000 LF of concrete curb, expansion to the 16th Tee area which required dewatering the lake, installing a temporary coff erdam, bypass pumping a distance of 1,400 LF, repair the damaged lake liner, and reestablish a new lake edge to accommodate a larger grandstand area. This operation also required the installation of additional infi ll pipe to run between the lakes for water equalization. Another task order required DBA to excavate and grade an additional area at the famous site of the Bird’s Nest to prepare the land for a two-story tent with a larger footprint. DBA’s scope of work included placement of 6” thick, fi bermesh-reinforced new colored concrete cart paths (San Diego Buff ). Additional work included the removal of a 280’ rock wall at the #18 green and the construction a new lake edge (approximately 500 LF) at the #12 fairway. The project was funded through several sources including the City of Scottsdale, the Thunderbirds organization, and the PGA. Several contract vehicles were used to complete the entire project including DBA working as a prime contractor for the and the Thunderbirds, as well as part of a design-build team for the City of Scottsdale. Construction needed to be complete during the summer months to accommodate golf course revenue. As a result, DBA needed to pour concrete starting at 4:00 a.m. This required coordination with the City Neighborhood Services Department and the creation of fl yers, delivered door-to-door for adjacent residents giving advance notice of the potential disruption and a 24- hour hotline for complaints direct to DBA’s Project Manager.
