Elefiion to elect the office bearers of Sri Lanka Cricket - 2021-2023 {for a period not exceeding ilvo {2} vears}. By virtue of powers vested in the Minister of Youth and Sports under Sectlon 39 (1) of the Sports Act No. 25 of 1973 and in terms of the provisions contained in the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2094/37 dated 26th October 2018, calling and holding the election to elect the office bearers of Sri Lanka Cricket for the term 2021,/2AB is scheduled to be held by the Election Committee of SLC that has been elected and appointed at the Extraordinary General Meeting held on 07th January 2021 consequent to the regulations promulgated in Extraordinary Gazette No. 2AS9/56 of 22nd September 2018 as amended by the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2093/39 dated L8th October 2018 and the Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2166/9 dated 10th March 2020. Accordingly, you are hereby notified that the election to elect the Office bearers of Sri Lanka Cricket for the term 2021/zA23 will be held from 10.30 a.m. on 20th Mav 2021, at the Duncan White Auditorium, Ministry of Sports, No. 09, Philip Gunawardana Mawatha, Colombo 07. ln accordance with the provisions of the Sports Act No.25 of L973 {as amended) and the provisions of the Constitution of Sri Lanka Cricket the following office bearers for the Sri Lanka Cricket will be elected at the said Election. 1. President - 01 post 2. Vice President - 02 posts 3. Secretary - 01 post 4. Asst. Secretary - 01 post 5. Treasurer - 01- post 6. Asst. Treasurer - 01 post 02. Votine and representation Member Sports clubs/ Associations and affiliated members to Sri Lanka Cricket are specified in the respective annexure (A)to the notice (the final list of members who are eligible to vote at the said election will be notified on 6th February 2021). The number of voted entitled to cast by each member club/association and affiliated member shall be governed In terms of the Constitution of Sri Lanka Cricket. Such voting right shall only be exercised by the representative(s)/ delegate(s) authorized and nominated in writing by each member club/association and affiliated member only by submitting the prescribed form attached hereto as annexure (B). One detegate shall have one vote. When attending the election, the delegates shall necessarily establish their identity before the election committee by means of national identity card. "Delegation Form" prepared in conformity with the specimen attached hereto shall be submitted with the certification of the President and the Secretary of the respective Club/ Association. The duly completed delegation form shall be sent via registered post to reach "The Chair Person, Sri Lanka Cricket Election Committee, 'No.35, Maitland place, Colombo O7.'or delivered by person on or before 09th of April 2021 ("Election of Sri Lanka Cricket - Delegotion Form" should be written at the top left - hand corner of the envelop). The voter/ representative nominated by a club/ association may lose the opportunity to vote in the event of failing to be present at the election time. lf the person nominated in the delegation form is unable to attend the Election due to some unavoidable circumstance, the election Committee, at its discretion may decide whether or not to accept any other person nominated in writing by the Club/ Association instead of the person(s) initially nominated. 03. Acceptance of Nominations Nominations shall only be submitted in accordance with the form/ specimen attached to this notice as annexure (C). Proposer of the Nominee shall be the President or the Secretary of the member club/ association of SLC having voting right. Seconder of the Nominee too shall also be the president or the Secretary of another member club/ association of SLC other than those of the proposing club/ association having voting rights. The same clubl association of SLC cannot act as both the proposer and the seconder of one nomination. Photocopies of the relevant documents which prove the candidate's qualifications in terms of the Provisions in the National Association of Sports Regulations No. 01 of 2016 published in Extraordinary Gazette No. 1990/23 of October 27, 2AL6, as amended by Extraordinary Gazette No.2006/13 of February 13, 2AL7, Extraordinary Gazette No.2OL7/41- of May 05,20L7, Extraordinary Gazette No. 2156/9 of March 10, 2O2O and provisions of the Constitution of SLC shall be certified by either the proposer or seconder himself and the said certified photocopies shall be annexed to the nomination paper. (ln case of a discrepancy between the provisions of the Constitution of Sri l-anka Cricket and the National Associations of Sports Regulations (as amended) made by the Minister of Sports under Section 41 read with Section 31 of Sports Law, No. 25 of L973, such regulations shall prevail.) An affidavit certifying qualification of candidate and the absence of impediments for nomination and election as an office bearer of Sri Lanka Cricket shall be annexed to the nomination form, The specimen of the affidavit is attached to this notice as annexure {D}. Nominations will be rejected where specimen is not duly completed or the documents supporting the qualifications are not attached, or there are impediments as per the provisions of Sports Act, regulations and the Sri Lanka cricket constitution. All nominations shall be put into the nomination box by person, kept at the Sri Lanka Cricket Election Committee office located at the 'No. 35, Maitland place, Colombo 07.' from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. on 24t:h of February. Entertaining nominations will terminate at 3.30 p.m. on the 24th of February 2A21.. {The Top left-hand corner of the envelope should mention "Election of Sri Lanka Cricket - Nornination Form").
