Die Gleinalpe ist der nordostlichste Teil des Steirischen Randgebirges westlich Das Untersuchungsgebiet hat Anteil an den steirischen Klimaregionen 7 "Untere des Murdurchbruchs bei Bruck an der Mur. Die Abgrenzung im Westen gegen die Kraubath und Kindberg, 10 "Kiima des Knittelfelder Beckens", 13 "Obere Bergland Stubalpe wird von LIES (1991) durch die Talfolge Schrottgraben - Stierkreuz - stute sudlich des Alpenhauptkammes" und 18 "Alpine Stute der Zentalalpen ober der Rauchaugraben gezogen, nach Suden gegen das Grazer Bergland durch eine relativ Waldgrenze" (WAKONIGG 1978). Die Jahresmitteltemperaturen liegen zwischen etwa komplizierte Linie, die uber mehrere kurze Talabschnitte und Sattel lauft und die LiEs 7-8°C in den Tallagen und um ooc in den Gipfellagen des Speikkogels, die (1991: 25) in einer Strichkarte dargestellt hat. Demnach ist im sudlichen Grenzgebiet durchschnittliche Jahresmenge der Niederschlage bei unter 800 mm im mittleren die Gefahr von Zuordnungsfehlern relativ groB. Murtal bis uber 1400 mm aut den Bergen im Sudwesten. Die Vegetationsperiode dauert zwischen 230 Tagen im Murtal ostlich Kraubath und unter 160 Tagen in den Die hochste Erhebung stellt der Speikkogel (1988 m) ganz im Sudwesten dar. Hochlagen. Das Mugelkristallin stellt die Fortsetzung des Hochalpe (1180 m) 54 49 72 69 111 152 158 150 98 87 75 65 1140 Seckauer Kristallins sudlich der Mur dar und liegt im Norden zwischen Leoben und Gleinalpe (1590 m) 61 60 71 86 127 194 202 161 113 86 80 68 1309 Bruck palaozoischen quarzitreichen Gesteinen aut, die ihrerseits wieder mit der Grauwackenzone, im Gesteinsbestand hauptsachlich karbone Schiefer und darin Das mittlere Murtal sowie sudlich der Gleinalpe der Raum Koflach-Voitsberg eingelagert einige Kalklinsen, in intensivem tektonischen Kontakt stehen. Die beiden sind wichtige steirische lndustriegebiete m it nach wie vor betrachtlichen Schad letztgenannten Gesteinsserien bauen die Huge! und Rue ken unm ittelbar sudlich des stotfemmissionen. lnversionswetterlagen mit Hochnebel behindern besonders im Murtales aut. Weiter westlich reicht das Stub- und Gleinalpenkristallin bis ins Murtal Winterhalbjahr immer wieder den Luftaustausch, was fallweise zu relativ hohen herab, sein Amphibolitkomplex enthalt bei Kraubath ein gr6Beres Serpentinit- Schadstoffbelastungen, besonders an den Prallhangen tuhrt. Dementsprechend vorkommen. · verarmt sind dort auch die Epiphytengesellschaften. Unter den anstehenden Gesteinen dominieren Gneise und Schiefergneise sowie Amphibolite, an den Nordhangen zum Murtal hin findet man auch Quarzite und 1.4. Vegetation und Naturschutz quarzreiche Konglomerate, lokal sind Serpentinite und Kalke anzutreffen. Die Kalk linsen entsprechen nach der Signatur in der geologischen Karte dem Triebenkalk der Die groBeren Taler, durch die auch die Hauptverkehrsrouten verlauten, sind Niederen Tauern (FLOGEL & NEUBAUER1984). entweder Siedlungsgebiet oder tor landwirtschattliche Kulturen genutzt. Gehofte tindet man vereinzelt bis um 1000 m Seehbhe. Die Berghange sind weithin von Waldern bedeckt. von denen die meisten als Fichtenforste zu klassifizieren sind. In zunehmendem MaBe reichen Forste heute bis in den Talgrund herab, da der Bedarf an Grunland fur die Viehwirtschatt offenbar stark zuruckgeht, und viele Grenzertrags tlachen in den letzten Jahren aufgetorstet wurden.
