His guidance helped me in all the time of research and writing this thesis. The joy and enthusiasm he has for his research were contagious and motivational for me, even during tough times in my Ph.D. pursuit. Because of his vast knowl- edge and understanding of mathematics, my view of Optimization Theory broadened immensely. It has been a great privilege to learn from him. I finished my master studies at the University of Haifa in 2008 under the supervision of Professor Dan Butnariu who passed away two months after I graduated. Simeon then gave me the option to study for my doctoral degree under his supervision at the Technion. I am grateful to the Department of Mathematics for their help and support. Thanks to Simeon's advice, I had the opportunity to study and work with several amazing mathematicians during my doctoral studies. I am sure that this experience improved my thesis novelty and my research abilities.
