To Dr. Paul Cutter, a professor that I admired ...I respect the both of you and will always remember you with a smile on my face. There are no words to express how the both of you influenced my life. To Dr. Edward Pearsall, a music theorist with a Heart of Gold and the passion of a true musician. Without your leadership and genuine concern in my academic life, I would have never achieved my dream. Thank You Drs. Peter Fischer and Thomas Hughes...for your compassion, advice, and tutelage to help me "stay the course." I could not ask for a better choice of advisors on this project. To Joan Arlene Mueller (deceased) ...you taught me to believe in and help others in a way that I will always treasure ...I will always miss you. To my daughter Tracy, you taught me to love and protect those that are special to me and to go forth and make a difference. I will always love you. To my wife (deceased) Donna Jean ...as every day passes, I realize how much you mean to me and what I meant to you.
