Dear Friends, W From the President

Dear Fellow Members and Friends,

e are looking forward to our 21st year at Palm Beach Synagogue. The Program Guide for 5775 exemplifies the philosophy of our Synagogue as a center for Judaism that is welcoming and inclusive, Wdedicated to Jewish values and traditions, and spiritually inspiring. Under the leadership of our beloved Rabbi Moshe Scheiner, we open our doors and hearts to those who want to pray together and become part of our community. We welcome all—adults, teens, children, and newcomers — and offer opportunities for social connection, and spiritual and intellectual growth. We are very proud that we are the only synagogue in Palm Beach that conducts morning, afternoon and evening services every day of the year. As you peruse this Program Guide, you will find a full range of programs for the coming year. Our adult education classes provide stimulating classes in Bible, Jewish law and customs, and Hebrew language, and there are programs in arts and culture, including our Jewish film series and book club. We have assembled a wide spectrum of Scholars-in- Residence and Guest Lecturers who will enrich our knowledge of Torah, and deepen our understanding of issues of interest to the Jewish community and the State of . Our women’s programs, under the guidance of our wonderful Dinie, are guaranteed to motivate and enhance our knowledge of Judaism and strengthen bonds of friendship. We trust that our prayer services will be elevated through the voices of our visiting cantors, and that you will enjoy our celebratory events associated with the Jewish holidays. We provide a full array of special programs and educational opportunities for our children and youth, the keys to our future. We look forward to serving your needs. Our only request we ask of you is your attendance—to take advantage of all that we offer for your personal growth and development, including world renowned scholars and personalities. You will broaden your horizons and enhance your lives by participating. As your President, I look forward to greeting you at the many activities, classes, lectures, programs, celebrations and events enumerated in this Program Guide in the year to come.
