2 OUR HEALTH SYSTEM

Owensboro Health is large enough to have financial strength, resources and growth opportunities, but we are small enough to feel like a family. Our health system is an independent, not-for-profit organization and is operated by a board of community volunteers and physicians. With three hospitals, a growing medical group, and locations serving an 18-county area across Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana, Owensboro Health is the region’s healthcare leader and is well-positioned for more growth in the future. In fact, Owensboro Health is Kentucky’s largest private employer west of Louisville and is the largest healthcare facility in Western Kentucky.

We are based in Owensboro, KY, a thriving, mid-sized city full of community spirit and conveniently located within a few hours of major cities like Louisville, Nashville, St. Louis and Indianapolis. In July of 2020, CNN reported that Owensboro was the only American city to report an improvement in its unemployment rate from the previous year. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/30/business/unemployment-cities-owens boro/index.html?utm_content=2020-07-30T17%3A32%3A08&utm_mediu m=social&utm_source=twCNN&utm_term=link
