Special Touch Gin & Tonic Gourmet Set

The perfect Gin & Tonic

1. Use a balloon glass with a wide opening. This way, the aromas of the gin and the botanicals can unfold in a much more thorough way. 2. Use plenty of ice, which should be made from soda in the best case. Add several ice cubes into your glass and stir it without any additional liquids with your bar spoon until the glass gets foggy. Discard the melt water. 3. Now add your preferred botanical(s), depending on which gin you choose to work with. It is always advisable to choose an ingredient that has been used in the making of the respective gin. This way you can ensure a harmonious balance between all present aromas. 4. Be advised that if you wish to add a citrus note to your Gin & Tonic, you should add neither the juice nor the pulp of lemons or limes. Some zest is enough to aromatise your drink in the preferred way. Otherwise, the refreshing fizz of the tonic would disappear due to a chemical reaction between citric acid and carbonic acid anhydride. 5. Now is the time to add the gin. The ideal ratio of tonic to gin should be 4:1. The exact dosage is up to you, but the duration of the pouring process from a bottle with a conventional opening should not exceed three seconds. Stir everything with the long end of a bar spoon. 6. Hold the bar spoon at an angle of 45 degrees like a slide into the glass. Add the tonic water slowly from the highest point of the spoon over the handle. This way it does not lose any carbonic acid. 7. Now stir carefully and enjoy your perfect Gin & Tonic with your very own individual style.
