1

GLORIA Mass of the Resurrection R andall DeBruyn

2 The Liturgy of the Word

FIRST READING 2 Kings 4:8-11;14-16A Elisha is a holy man of God, let him remain.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM “Psalm 89: Forever I Will Sing” Tim Schoenbachler

1. How I feel like singing, announcing to the world your constant faithful love, O Lord. You have shown the greatness of your love; by covenant you chose us as your own until the end of time.

2. O how blest are they who can know the joyous grace that comes from praising you, my Lord. At your very name how they rejoice, and in your justice you will raise them up. Their hearts reflect your love.

3. For you are our splendor, the reason for our strength; the cause of all our hopes and dreams. Only by your love do we exist. Only by your choice glorified; for you, O Lord, are God.

4. I have found my servant David, and with my holy oil anointed him that he be strong. He shall know my faithful hand is there. He shall say of me: “You are my Father, my savior, God, my rock.”

SECOND READING Romans 6:3-4;8-11 Buried with Christ in baptism, we shall walk in the newness of life.

ACCLAMATION BEFORE THE

You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation; announce the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

GOSPEL Matthew 10:37-42 Whoever does not take up his cross is not worthy of me. Whoever receives you receives me.

3 PROFESSION OF FAITH I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,

At the words that follow, up to and including “and became man,” all bow: and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

PREPARATION OF GIFTS “Hold On to Love” Jesse Manibusan

There is a place for the sadness. Hold on to Love. There is a season of gladness. Hold on to Love. When pain and confusion seem endless, hold on to Love. We cultivate healing through kindness. Hold on to Love.

When terror and fear overwhelm us, hold on to Love. Courage and faith will sustain us. Hold on to Love. When violence seeks to destroy us, hold on to Love. Acts of compassion restore us. Hold on to Love. (Refrain)

When hatred is used to divide us, hold on to Love. Wisdom and truth reunite us. Hold on to Love. When prejudice poses as freedom, hold on to Love. Dignity means “all are welcome!” Hold on to Love. (Refrain)

7 COMMUNION PROCESSION “Endless is Your Love” Tom Kendzia

1. Surely there’s a place even you don’t know. If I climb there, if I fly there, can I hide from you? Can I hide from you? R efrain

2. Can’t I hide at night, darkness be my light? Can you see the day in darkness, can you find me there? Can you find me there? R efrain

3. Wonderful your works, countless as the sand. Earth and heaven know your beauty, fashioned by your hand, fashioned by your hand. R efrain

AN ACT OF My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy . I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

8 SECOND COMMUNION SONG “You are a Forever” Brain Flynn In thanksgiving to God for the ministry of Father Juan Carlos Villavincencio, PES

You are a priest forever in the line of Melchizedek, consecrated to the Lord to sit at His right hand. You are a priest forever in the line of Melchizedek, in persona Christi ad majorem Dei Gloriam, totus tuus. Amen.

Beneath the mantle of your mother who intercedes on your behalf, in the arms of the Father who holds you in the palm of his hand.

You are a priest forever in the line of Melchizedek, consecrated to the Lord to sit at His right hand. You are a priest forever in the line of Melchizedek, in persona Christi ad majorem Dei Gloriam, totus tuus. Amen.

Lord, pour out upon this servant your Holy Spirit from above, the grace and power of your priesthood, and your unfailing love. May the anointing of the Lord be upon your brow today. May the oil of gladness flow from heaven above, and may the olive branch of peace be raised in your right hand that you might show the saving power of his love.

You are a priest forever in the line of Melchizedek, consecrated to the Lord to sit at His right hand. You are a priest forever in the line of Melchizedek, in persona Christi ad majorem Dei Gloriam, totus tuus. Amen.
