David Harvey is one of the most consistent performers in Australian club rugby with a kicking game that is second to none.

David was born in Brisbane to a Brazilian mother, and Australian father who is son of the great Australian Hall of Fame cricketer, Neil Harvey.

David spent his junior years combining both rugby and cricket, representing both sports at school and state level, before playing first grade cricket at 16. However, David soon shifted his focus to and playing for both the in the NRL and Gordon rugby union.

David plays the game with great enthusiasm and dedication both on and off the field which is displayed through his training, preparation, and assisting of team mates.

David possesses one of the best long and short kicking games in , complementing his excellent conversion of higher than 85% at goal. Not only does he possess a great kicking game suited to European Rugby but he also has excellent footwork and a great ability to read the game and control what’s in front of him. This versatility led to David representing Australia in the IRB Sevens, and the victorious Central Coast Rays in the inaugural Australian Rugby Championships.

David has been the highest point scorer in Sydney club rugby for the past 4 seasons and at times has been the leading try scorer which is rare for a fly half.

Due to these consistent performances, David won the Ken Catchpole Medal for season 2008 for being the club rugby player of the season which David had previously come 3rd in season 2006 and 2007. David has set his sights on improving his game further as he and many other believe he is capable of big things on the rugby stage.

Looking for a change, Harvey headed to Italian club Milan but has recently returned to dominant the once again. David has also put his hand up for an opportunity in 2011 with a Super 15 club, a level of Rugby that better suits his potential.

Outside of rugby David is a modest person who loves spending time with his family and friends. David is over the moon as he just married his English partner of years, Melanie. They now find time for travel and visiting various sites around the world when not committed to rugby. David’s interest in travel and sight seeing has come about due to the interesting and various origins of his family which include members from Brazil, Australia, South Africa, and Canada. David obtained a degree in Bachelor of Physical Education where he spends his spare time outside of rugby teaching high school students PDHPE, enjoying the feeling of being able to pass on knowledge and information to students, whilst also giving them a chance at a better life through education.
