General : Time sheets in operation throughout the season ( April – October). Saturday Competitions – Time sheets available in Clubhouse from 16.30 on previous Tuesday. As per the Bye Laws ( see notice board) a disc system is in operation from 16.00. Telephone bookings from 17.30 onwards.
Tee will close from 17.15 – 18.30 for all Home Team Matches Gents,Ladies and Juniors.
Tee will close 30 mins prior to any competition and re – open 30 mins after the last players tee times.
Ladies : Tee closed on Tuesdays 15.30 – 17.00 April and Sept and 16.00 – 17.30 May,June,July and August. Tuesday players will use time sheet in Ladies locker room. If a player wishes to play after 17.30 on a Tuesday or before 16.00 on a medal Tuesday , she should book a tee time with a playing partner via the professional shop.
Eclectic Competition from April to September. Separate eclectic competitions will run for Saturdays and Tuesdays.
Asterisked competitions will count for SLGU Bronze and Silver Badges. (Best three scores throughout the season to count.)
Medal winners and Runners-up will qualify for the Medal Final in September. There will be a Senior Ladies tee time on Fridays from 11.30-12 noon during playing season.
Senior Gents : Competitions – Tee closed 11.45 – 13.30 every Tuesday and Thursday during playing season. Note : Tuesday competitions are open to all full members. Draw both days at 11.30.
Juniors and Juveniles : Competitions – Tee closed 10.00 – 11.00 Tuesdays and Thursdays during School Easter and Summer Holidays. Check syllabus for Sundays. Those who are unable to play on a Sunday can play the same competition on the Friday by booking a tee off time with the starter.
Club Championship : The Gents Scratch and Handicap Championship and Ladies Championship will be played on Saturday 18th June. The Gents Scratch competition will be played over 36 holes. The Gents Handicap and Ladies competitions will be played over 18 holes. The Ladies competition will have 12 Ladies competing on the day after their qualification process. The rules for the Gents Scratch and Handicap competitions are : that entry forms must be submitted by Sunday 5th June closing date. Qualification requirements for the scratch competition is a handicap of 7 or less on the closing date. Qualification requirements for the handicap competition are 2 returned scores from the 3 qualifying rounds. The best of these scores shall fill the available tee slots out with those allotted to the scratch competition. Entry to the scratch competition does not guarantee qualification to the handicap competition.
Matchplay Competitions : Dates to be announced. Completed entry forms required by closing dates. Extensions to dates for play will only be granted by the Handicap Committee. These are dependent on the delay caused and are at the sole discretion of the Handicap Committee.
Order of Merit Trophy (O.O.M.) : (G) Best 8 scores from the 12 nominated Gents Competitions.
Competition/ Trophy Winners: Winners for all competitions will be decided in accordance with the standard count back procedure on the day of the competition except for Gents Scratch Championship and Lady Lockhart De Robeck Trophy which will be decided by play off. The winner of the play off will be decided by the lowest combined score over the 1st,17th and 18th Holes. If there is still a tie from this then the winner will be decided on sudden death over the same holes.

Sun 3rd July - Presentation of Silloth Prizes. Sun 10th July - Presentation of Gents Matchplay Championship. Sun 17th July - Presentation of Lady Lockhart De Robeck Trophy. Thurs 4th Aug - Presentation of Thomson Rosebowl. Sat 13th Aug - Presentation of Captains Day Prize. Sat 3rd Sep - Presentation of Professional’s Day Prizes. Sun 11th Sep - Presentation of Junior and Juvenile Prizes. Sat 5th Nov - Annual Dinner Dance and Presentation of all Trophies.
Social Events in Clubhouse ; See Notice Board for adverts and view the Club’s Web Site for events during the year.
Winter Months : A ball landing on a closely mown area of the course must be lifted cleaned and placed in the semi – rough not nearer the hole. A ball landing in the rough or a hazard must be played as it lies. Play is permitted on closely mown areas of the course beyond the white lines close to the green Mats can also be used on the fairways and tees during the winter months. Mats must not be used in the rough. Note : This is not compulsory and those players who do not have a mat or do not wish to use them continue to play the course under the existing rules set out above.
One O’Clock Gang Competition : Saturdays commencing 15th October 2016 – Final Day Saturday 11th March 2017. Play must commence before 10.00 or the competition will be cancelled – last book in time is 13.15. Entry to the competition will be a running draw controlled by the starter. Eight or more appearances are required to qualify for the Final Day. Winter Handicaps will apply for the Final Day Competition. Winter Eclectic will run in conjunction with the One O’Clock Gang Competition.
