LOCAL TOWNS

The three biggest towns in North Cyprus are Kyrenia (Girne), Nicosia (Lefkosa) and Famagusta (Mağusa).

Kyrenia / Girne

Kyrenia has a beautiful harbor with many

lovely restaurants. Look out for Kiprus Evi for real village cooking. The harbor also acts as a hub for all the excursions and day trips in the area. Kyrenia also offers a fine array of shops

to cater for everyone’s needs.

Nicosia / Lefkosa

Nicosia also has a varied selection of shops and will be a great place for those that love jewelry. Take your passport and cross to the Greek side for the more recognized chain stores like Starbucks and McDonalds (although politics doesn’t advertise this)!! But some warn people not to let the border patrol ‘stamp’ your passport.

Famagusta/ Muğusa

Famagusta like Kyrenia has a rich History. There are many castles, churches, Mosques and the notorious Varosha (Marash) which is the no man’s land part of Famagusta. This huge resort has been a ghost town since the 1970’s and has a very eerie presence. Famagusta also has some wonderful beaches and great shopping.

Other towns:

• Catalkoy Big expat area which is more influenced by English way of life

Peaceful mountain village with charm and character

• Esentepe Bustling town with shops, beaches, and golf!!

• Bafra New developments worth a nose where all the 6* hotels are being built.

Karpas

The un-spoilt peninsular of Karpas holds many delights. There are many beaches and historical landmarks leading up to Apostolos Andreas Monastery at the tip. This is well worth a trip but plan your route to get the most from your visit. Remember to look out for the wild donkeys too!!

Historical

There are many beautiful historical places to visit in Cyprus. Bellapais (top left), St Barnabas (top middle), St Hilarion Castle (top right) and the stunning Salamis Roman ruins (bottom), over 70% lies underwater – great for scuba divers!

T H E HISTORY & F U T U R E OF KAZIM’S EVI

KAZIM’S EVI

Artist’s picture commissioned in 2014.

The house in the forest

The house was originally a restaurant but was purchased as an investment by Kazim and Emete in 1998 to hand down to their children as a home. However the children grew up in England and their roots grew strong there, so the house was only ever used briefly. Akile renovated and added an extension in the early years. But as the couple grew older the house fell into disrepair.

Sadly in 2008 Kazim Salih passed away peacefully at his home in Gonyeli.

Emete now in her golden years, is being cared for by Akile back in England.

But the story continues….. As part of the inheritance Hasan took over the house in the forest and started the process of renovating again. This house serves as a testament to a special man named Kazim, who is held so fondly in the hearts of those he loved. It seemed right to name the House Kazims Evi or Kazims place.

The future A new chapter began in April 2015 when the house in the Forest become part of many families history to.

Based on its rental success, we hope to reinvest the money back into the house.

Kazim’s Evi has an exciting future!

We intend to install a hot tub, play areas, reading corners, picnic areas and hopefully convert the basement to a games room or gym.

KAZIM’S EVI

Hasan met Kerry in 2006. They quickly fell in love, and had their son Kylan in 2007. They went on to get married in 2011. Kylan has 3 other grown up bothers and a sister, ‘Sami, Jem and Emmie’.

Welcome to Kazim’s Evi
