Make sure you have everything you need for tonight’s rallye. The Rallye Masters, Dave & Keith, will be available to answer questions about the rallye. PLAY BALL!

ABOUT TONIGHT’S RALLYE: It’s April 1st, opening day of the 2013 baseball season, and this rallye is a celebration of the GIANTS winning the 2010 and 2012 . This season they will try to three-peat and go for a third World Series. In keeping with tonight’s theme if you three-peat: U. This rallye will honor some great returning and former Giants. Returning players include Tim Y Lincecum, #2 Pablo U Sandoval, #37 , and #6 Marco Scutaro. Former players being honored include #7 Will S Clark, #15 Mike G Krukow, #33 Chris Spier, #54 Orlando Cepeda, #31 Jimmy Davenport, Willie P McCovey and Willie Mays. Sadly the listed players are the only ones you will see tonight. In baseball, you should never talk back to umpires.

Honoring players: When you see a sign of the following do the indicated action ONCE per player or unique group. The # of a former Giant: L 1st OPP. Any part of a current Giants name: U. The # of a current Giant: R 1st CH. Any part of a former Giant’s name: R 1st OPP. A unique group of Giants on a sign: U. Do not do any individual actions related to group signs.

ROUTE: All rallye roads will be paved and public. Driveways and parking lots exist only at the start, the CP, and the finish. If you turn on a road you have been instructed onto by name, stay onto that named road until you are instructed NLORBN, even if you must U to do so. On tonight’s rallye if an instruction is non-directional and you can turn in either directions, turn right. Do not turn on roads labeled “NO OUTLET” or enter mobile home parks.

CHECKPOINTS (CPs): A CP is identified by a “√.” sign similar to the example at the start. There is no CP at the start. The CP will be open from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm, or until the last car checks in. It is located in the parking lot at the corner of------. Enter the CP only once. When you see a CP sign enter the CP by turning left into the parking lot. Drive up to where the CP personnel are and follow their directions. Keep your scorecard up to date. When you can, tell the CP personnel how much fun you’re having. LET’S THREE-PEAT GIs Page 2 of 3

COURSEMARKERS (CMs): A CM is a rallye erected sign with letter(s)/number and reflective tape similar to the good CM at the start, that has a corresponding Supp or SI. When you encounter a CM you consider to be valid: (1) Record the number of the CM on your scorecard next to the letter(s) that correspond to the letter(s) on the CM; (2) If the number recorded next to the letter(s) from that CM has a corresponding Supp or SI delete any uncompleted Supp part(s) that are in effect, if any, and then bring into effect the Supp or SI that corresponds to the number that is recorded next to the letter(s) for that CM. Record each CM only once. A CM’s valid Supp with a part that reads, “On Course” is completed when that CM is recorded.

SIGNS: Signs are only rallye erected signs, jerseys at the start, and government erected signs. Red and white signs with the word Parking on them do not exist until after the completion of RI 10. Bus stop, light or power pole identification, and any light rail signs do not exist. Do not look behind you to see any signs. All word(s) following “at” in an RI, Supp, Foul or Walk instruction must appear on a sign at which you are to take the indicated action. The exception to the preceding sentence is when the instruction uses T or STOP; those actions are to be completed at the object as defined. Extra words on a sign do not invalidate the sign. Do not split words or numbers anywhere. Outside of these GIs the words north, south, court, way, street, circle, boulevard, avenue, drive, and their abbreviations do not exist. If you see a sign tonight that reads, “YOUR SPEED”, it reads, “YOUR SPEED 37”.

INSTRUCTIONS IN ORDER OF PRECEDENCE: When two or more instructions can be done at the same time and place, execute the one of higher precedence first. If two instructions of equal precedence are in effect at the same time and place do the one higher on the page first. 1. California Vehicle Code: Obey the law. 2. SI (Special Instruction): There are no gimmicks on SIs, just do them. Each traverse is an SI. Do not consider any other instructions while doing an SI. Go on freeways only during a traverse. 3. The rallye masters and CP personnel. 4. GI (General Instruction): The GIs are the three pages labeled GIs that you are reading right now; they are the ground rules for tonight’s rallye. 5. FOUL: Foul is an instruction labeled F: that can be found anywhere. Fouls found on the RI page come into effect upon the completion of the immediately preceding RI. Fouls found elsewhere come into effect each time you receive them. A Foul remains in effect until deleted. 6. WALK: Walk is an instruction labeled Walk: and can be found anywhere. Walks come into effect when received and remain in effect until completed. 7. SUPP (Supplementary Instruction): Supps are numbered instructions labeled Supp found on the Supp/SI page. Each Supp will have one or more numbered part(s). Supp parts are to be completed in ascending numerical order. Supps come into effect as described under coursemarkers. Do not work on RIs while Supps are in effect. 8. RI (Route Instructions): RIs are numbered instructions found on the RI page and are to be completed in ascending numerical order. RIs come into effect when the previous RI is completed. RIs go out of effect upon execution, unless instructed otherwise. 9. Turn Right at otherwise uninstructed Ts. 10. SAP (continue straight as possible) 11. U.

MISCELLANEOUS: There will be ON COURSE CMs on------. Make U’s at a safe and legal place but consider them made where instructed, unless instructed otherwise. The letter U on a rallye erected sign is an instruction to U. The finish will be at The Round Table Pizza parlor located at 4400 Stevens Creek Blvd., San Jose. The finish will open about 8:00 and close at 9:00. The rallye is over when you hand your scorecard to the rallye personnel at the finish. Scorecards turned in after 9:00 may be penalized 5 points per minute until 9:15.F:------. Scorecards may not be accepted after 9:15. If you need to protest, print your class, car #, the problem, and the points requested and hand it to the finish personnel by 9:20. Tiebreakers for this rallye will be to answer the tiebreaker questions at the bottom of your scorecard. If you get lost, or have a serious issue with the route, or have a question we can answer, we can be reached on our cell phones listed at the bottom of your scorecard. Two last things, as Giants fans Keith and I hate the LA Dodgers so don’t go to LA. We love to visit any other ballparks we can and you should too. Visit each unique park you see on a street naming sign once. Thanks for running our rallye and have a great time.
